hey guys!
so long story short. I haven't bought a SHO yet because I cant find any in Canada (yes nation wide) under 100k with the P.P.
wanted to get a second opinion from SHO owners.
is the gear ratio important ?can i achieve the same gear ratio doing modifications?
can i personally turn a regular SHO. Into a P.P SHO. should I go out and buy a SHO already?
Hey....idk if you already pulled the trigger on a SHO....but imo....depends on what you want. I'm an enthusiast and so performance matters most to me over luxury in this case. The PP is the performance version and the N-PP is the luxury version....think of it as PP go fast all of the time vs N-PP go fast just occasionally. I have a PP that's all out fast.....the proof would be in the trips to mexico to assuage doubts. One other thing to consider is that the vehicle will stay reliable longer and be worth more in the long run in the original stock form. You really can't go wrong either way though....the SHO is freaking awesome vehicle in either form and is destined to be a classic. Good luck.

The PP has been cooling but in general is actually slower than the Non-PP, stock for stock the launches are similar but the non-pp will always pull out on the pp. Once you start modding, the PP will far farther and farther behind gearing be the main issue. So while the PP does have cooling benefits, I certainly wouldn't define it by "PP go fast all of the time vs N-PP go fast just occasionally".

The PP would shine under heavy driving around town such as fleet use or evading other fleet use vehicles. It would also be great for hauling a lot of gear and people such as fleet use.
Its also really nice for extended idling and long start/stop drives normally found in fleet use.

I guess TLDR would be calling it the FLEET PACKAGE would be fitting but probably wouldn't sell like calling it the Performance Package.

The PP had a lot of plusses to me for a daily. If you had an issue with the PP gearing, why not just change it. I know there's 2 gear ratios available for the SHO, but I thought at one time I ran across a third gear set ratio for the 6F55, possibly on one of the Interceptors or Lincolns.

Personally, I like the adaptive cruise too much to get the PP. But If you are going to track your car, you will probably want to get it. The extra cooling and ability to completely disable the nanny systems is crucial to track performance,

Actually... after Jordan let the cat out of the bag, I tried it and my 60’s are much improved with traction on. I know it seems counter intuitive but the results speak for themselves.

:naughty1: Uh, yeah, "other fleet use vehicles".... Nudge nudge wink wink! That evading thing, better make sure you haven't been "made" before you go try to outrun a Motorola! The po's got, in many cases, nearly as much Eco-boost goodness, and a lot more experience hooning it around town which is NOT the same as track days. Just sayin'.... :shakehead:

You live in Canada. You gonna drive it in the winter? You gonna remote start it, and let it idle for 10+ minutes each morning to warm up the interior and defrost the windshield? If yes, get a pp. It has a cooling unit on the PTU that will extend its life. Idling kills those things due to all the heat around them.

If not, then no, pp vs non PP is sort of a non issue, imo.
