Just got done port matching my spacer to my intake runners. You can't even feel a change in the transition it's so smooth. This process is not possible without the alignment dowels.
Now, when I get my heads exposed, I'll entertain the idea of matching the bottom part of the spacer to the openings in the head...

what bit are you using? I'm going to install my dowels tomorrow and plan to do the same.

Actually, since I'm not really trimming any of the aluminum and just trying to get the spacer trimmed to match the existing runner dimensions, I just used the small dremel flap wheels...
It really did a great job of cutting into it without going hog-crazy. That white is just the phenolic material dust, LOL...
I used the smaller 9/16" drum instead of the 1 1/4" ones...
