Who? EBPF?

I was getting pinged on this post.. thought this crap was going on in EBPF...

Glad it’s not for a platitude of reasons...

EBPF is like the archives, ya dig through em, but there's not anything really worth adding....most of the stuff worth doing is already there.
I've never even needed to create an account there. I've considered it since it would make more sense as far as platforms go.

Springs yep Springs
Yessir springs are in there. As is why to use different ones
BUT THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE THAT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT HEAVIER SPRINGS AND TURBO LAG YOU ******* *****.
I didnt ask about why to use different springs. I didnt ask what do different springs do. I didnt ask will it control your minimum boost. I didnt ask how they work WITH a boost controller. I asked 2 questions and you guys keep trying to answer 6 other ones I didnt even ask

You should join. You can post of your findings in the F150 sections. I am sure that information could be valuable to the F150 guys.

Thats because you ask the wrong questions son. Now son I didn't want to do this to ya in front of your friends....but do you even know what a wastegate does? That being cleared up, do you know what causes turbo lag right? OK with those things out of the way.....whats your real question?

Dude. You need to go back and do some reading. I at no point in time asked how a wastegate works. Now, stop trying to answer questions that aren't even asked.

I purchased it from Mike Bambic who was gonna shut it down. He had let it go...

I didn’t want to see all the info and archives as you said get deleted. It also is where AJPturbo spends a lot of his time.

Kyle Will is in the process of getting the truck section back up and running...it admittedly has been dead.

It is still pretty busy but mostly by the SHO, Flex, Lincoln, and XSport guys...

New vendors are joining again so that’s a plus!

Just takes time to turn it around.

I didnt even truly ask a question I mostly asked for confirmation/denial of something I believe I already know.
Now to break it down really simple for you @High on Ethanol I was told not to go with a heavier wastegate spring because it would cause turbo lag and has nothing to do with max boost. I say that Is not true and I was asking for agreement or denial of that. Then you guys jumped in with all this other ******** that had nothing to do with those two things. So since yall can't figure that much out here ya go.

Will going from a 7psi wastegate spring to a 12 psi wastegate spring cause turbo lag?
My answer is NO if anything it would lessen turbo lag as you have more exhaust going through the turbine longer.

Will changing my wastegate spring have any effect on max boost?
My answer is yes as you can only boost to 2x wastegate pressure with a boost controller.

No wastegates are on exhaust, bov are on intake
They both help keep you from having too much pressure in those areas at the wrong times, they are relief valves

no sir, the wastegate is physically on each turbo and regulates the amount of gas that is actually spinning through the turbine versus being expelled out to the exhaust.

The BOV(s) are post turbo and regulate the air going through the charge pipes and vent when throttle is released to prevent the build up of gas in the charge pipes. You may see 14 psi in the manifold but you can see up to 30 psi in the charge pipes in time it takes for the throttle to close and the wastegates to vent. the BOVs are simply a mechanical safety device.

As I said before, the 7psi spring is still used on ATP and GH Gen 3 turbos, both of which see 20+ psi so the 2x wastegate spring pressure rule doesn't apply here.

And I apologize for misusing the word lag, I was referring to part throttle lagging not wot spool time.
