Dammit! Now I WON'T be painting my IC black....LOL. ugh! Science. Guess more testing may be needed, but after more thought about it, the real world application of painting the IC black sounds more and more like it's not as effective as it's initially portrayed in the MCM video.

On a side note, this is a perfect example of how easy it is to influence people using media (whether intentional or not), taking facts and making them fit a particular narrative. Even people who feel they are unable to be easily influenced can be....influenced, lol.

+1 vote for intercooler sprayer >.>

YES! Bring back Cry0 spray! Companies still make intercooler spray kits?

Remember MCM is the same guys that 'proved' putting a potato in your exhaust pipe makes power.

Holy crap, and Cry02 is still around!

I've heard about people using the water sprayer and the c02 together for really good results. They both work great separately, but together is sounds like once that water freezes the effects last MUCH longer so it requires less c02. I think in the end, I'll probably just end up getting the c02 kit myself and hooking it up some time in the summer.

@802SHO @GotGrip? Guys, please keep me in the loop if you start to develop any throttle body issues. My throttle body froze up yesterday. I think the actuator motor is burnt out or something. It will freeze open or closed. I'm worried it has a correlation to the much large volume of air slamming into it when letting off the throttle.

Also, Think I'm going to replace my TB with a 2010 Explorer 4.0l TB. My buddy said they are direct bolt up and have a larger bore. Torrie said "I'm not sure, is it OEM" when I asked if it will negatively effect my tune. I told him yes it a Ford part and I'm currently, waiting back for a reply.

Perk of the water would be you don't have to worry about CO2 getting into the intake and effecting your O2 levels.

Nothing as of yet, but I'll certainly keep an eye on it. I usually don't pulls during the week all that much, usually save my gas for the "weekend events" unless my daughter is like "GO FASTER!" which.... i can't deny her that lol

Weird. I'll let you know if I notice anything. Let us know what Torrie says.

There was an article on this saying it shouldn't happen unless there is a leak in the system somewhere or the co2 line is on top of the intake. Imo, once I get that vented Carbon fiber hood, the co2 will have a place to escape/get sucked out :D

That's awesome that your daughter digs the fast car.

As for CO2 contamination, I was just thinking you both have high mount ICs and our stock intake pulls from the top driver side of the grill.

That's fair! I think sitting still that might be something to consider, but once we're in motion everything should get pushed through. Once it makes it passed the intercooler it's behind the radiator support you should be in the clear I would think, but I guess you never know!

I do spray inside the engine anyway. So I'm actually wondering about not doing that anymore...I wonder if I can just plug my nitrous nozzle on the IC to TB pipe and run that line to the sprayer, so I can adjust how much I spray on it. So some getting sucked in is good, and less direct than in it of course. Hmmm. I know it's going to look badass to see the SHO pull up and disperse a mist of ice on the IC... as it sits ready to destroy lol! This is going to equally cool as fun! Will have to make a video. Do some IC sprays mid pull too see how that helps.

So I really wanted to paint my IC black. So I remembered a guy I'm not close friends with but we used to work together, he has a built EVO and I remember he painted his IC black. So I just asked him if he noticed any adverse effects good or bad, told him there's opposing info on the internet as usual. He said "I would paint it. Didn't notice any difference. Hope that helps".

So Black it is!
