Air blows out of vents, no matter the setting.

I currently have a leaking sunroof, most likely the drains being clogged (water soaking A pillars). However I was trying to defrost the windows, and the air only comes out of the vents, no matter how I adjust the air.

I do have a blend door out on the passenger side, only blows cold air. This is new however, is this another blend door?

Probably, I can't remember if there are 3 or 4 total but the only super easy one to get to is directly behind the glove box. The one the controls passenger side temperature is the one to the left of that with the giant pack of wires directly in front of it.

I do remember trying to tackle that one, but gave up pretty quickly. Looked to be a pain in the behind.

It's not that bad, just have to have your body at a torturous angle and the bigger your fingers are, the harder it is. I did mine in about 15 mins, but one of the bolts did fall into the dark abyss never to be seen again.

iirc, there are 4 blend doors and 4 motors in the hvac system. 2 each for diverters and temp controls (one for each side)

Unfortunately I can’t seem to find a diagram of where they are all located

If your passenger side is pure cold it’s unfortunately the blend door behind the plastic and ridiculous bundle of wires that needs to be changed. It sucks but, get after it.

So I’m having this same issue with cold air blowing out the passenger side. I replaced the actuator right behind the glove box but it appears I should have replaced the harder one to the left of it. I did not pull the fuse to recalibrate it, I’m going to try that real quick before I tackle that other actuator.

I made that same mistake as you, the one directly behind the glove box is the resirc/fresh air one.
I believe it is the one to the left, that’s tucked way in there.

Pulling the fuse and a battery disconnect is worth a shot but it seems rare that that ever works. That actuator is a pain to change but it really isn’t that bad. I’ve heard of people being able to remove that plastic in front of it but after a half hour of frustration I couldn’t find a way to do it so I just chopped it out.

Also if you need the actuator, I think I still have it laying around, in the plastic. Never got around to fixing it before I sold the car.

Thanks for replies guys, I just changed it out. What a pita! I now have heat on both sides. It wouldn’t be so bad if I could have done it in my garage. Unfortunately I’m doing a brake job on my sons car so that was tie up and ended up doing it in the rain. I did first try the fuse but I knew it was a long shot as well. Thank you all very much! I’ve only been here a little while and you guys have all been great.
