Couple things between yesterday and today.

Plastidipped my noisemakers delete pipe last night.

Installed it this morning.

Next was a gasket change from my DP collectors to my custom set up. FYI, I had two jack stands, that ramp, and my jack under the car as well. I am redundant safe when getting under a car.

New gaskets.

Next I cut a hole in my undertray, and then drilled in the radiator support to expose my GH IC drain. Yes it isn't pretty, but it works, and I don't see it, so it all is well.

20200411 110715

This is what came out of the drain. Quite a bit more oil than I was expecting honestly.

20200411 110838

Couple weeks back I cut open my splash guard. I wanted to get some airflow to the PTU. I wanted to retain the foam padding, so I used some self tapping screws. I will check in them every once in a while and they move, I will figure out a better way of securing the foam.

Then I took her for a nice 70 mile drive to stretch her legs.

I had a buddy that tragically lost his life because he was careless and only used his jack while changing brakes one day.. Somehow he ended up under the car. The jack failed and the brake rotor ended up crushing his throat. He was 23 and his daughter was only three months old at the time. Really crappy situation.

That sucks! I'm sorry for your loss man, just a simple thing like a jackstand can save your life

No worries, it was just a really crappy situation. However it taught me a extremely valuable lesson about safety under a car.

How many miles on intercooler? I've been meaning to cut an access hole to my drain too.

I have roughly 7000 miles on my GH IC. I would suggest cutting the under valance as well. I am going to drain it every oil change, along with my CC.

I am starting to wonder about the health of my turbo seals...

I have a couple thousand more than that, so I need to do that soon. I'll cut whatever gets in my way. Lol!

Ditto. So can placing a wheel/tire under the area of the car you are working on, as a secondary support to the jackstand.
I do that exact thing when I remove tire(s) from any car that I am working on with jack stands.

So, how flipping long is filling the PTU via the vent hose supposed to take? I've installed my new fuel line set up, and its a trickle fill at best.

Obviously the issue is air having to escape the PTU in order to make way for the fluid. An obvious fix would be opening the original fill port on the side, but ... meh?

What's your advise, or is it really a trickle flow taking possibly hours?

Haha.....I took me about 40 minutes. I would squeeze the bottle and let it burp. Best bet is to remove the fill plug and use that to vent if it is easy to get too. Once it starts to spill out of the fill drain you are good.

Ugh ... I've got a funnel and crap, and poured Caliber's Mixture in it ... I've hung it like an IV bag. It's really slow. I think I will indeed do that next time, because holy cow. Honestly, screw it. I might just go do that now. I really wanted to drive her to work today.

yep you are having to trade air for fluid and with a sealed unit there is nowhere for the air to go.

Try poking a hole in the bottle so air can escape. it will speed it up some.

Wanna know the secret we use in the industrial world? Take a really small vacuum line and snake it down there as far as you can but don't bottom it out. Let it stick up past your fill bottle through your funnel and adjust it as needed while you fill er up!!!!!!

I just bite the bullet, take the plug out, and fill from there. No measuring what came out or wondering if it’s full. Spend about four minutes pumping and your done.
