I know of others ordering sp542 plugs on Amazon and getting those instead. From what I understand its not one step colder like the 542 is. But I don't know that for sure.

same happened to me and the add showed 542 so I sent them back and they sent me 542.

I just buy them from Ford. 7bucks a plug or so. They have em in stock at 5 of the 8 dealerships within 30minutes drive.

So here is the question....what plug will we us when the 542's are all gone? I am moving on from them. The car seems happy, has zero knock, and feels stronger on the big end.

The link I provided is a new one that replaced the 542's and actually is a heat range colder like they should be. They are currently manufacturing them and they won't be running out anytime soon.
However if 578s work fine I'm all for running them too.

I'll probably keep going for one step colder whatever that may be. Just makes sense but I mean....I wouldn't be able to tell any of you the difference between the way the car feels with the stock plug (Sp534 correct?) At .030 compared to the Sp542 plug at .028 but this video made me want to take those stock plugs and throw them in the trash...which I did. My last plugs had maybe 2k miles on them...ended up in the trash when I got the 542's in. Don't recommend doing that, that's just what I did.

It's exactly the same as HPTuners VCM Scanner, which is unusable if they do the SCT tuner copyright scramble/lock.

If Gearhead goes HPTuners, I will sell my SCT device. Lol

2013+ SHO has virtually every table unlocked. It's definitely fun to play with and to also see how the engine is controlled based on demand and quickly adjusts to stay within the limits.

Here she is. Special thanks do my buddy Kyle for working on this. Car sounds great.

So far Sound did not change much. Zero drone, and it seems I recovered some more boost. Car runs hard.

Stock 3rd cat and stock resonator.

3rd Cat removed and added Magnaflow resonator.

Some weld candy.

Stock setup can be bolted right back into place.

I dont have a stock idle video with the just the DP's. To me the sound didnt change much.

Here is a video of my ghost cam tune with DP's, 3rd cat, stock resonator, and stock mufflers.

Here is a video of the new set up. DP's, Magnaflow Reso, and Stock muffers.

Here is a video of the new set up with the ghost cam tune. I don't think it sounds as good as the first video.

Overall I am happy. Sound didn't change much (except the ghost cam), I did recover more boost (which isn't a good thing because I am out of fuel pump completely now) and there is ZERO DRONE! I like I how it sounds so that is a plus.

i like the magnaflow res sound. who is your exhaust guy in the valley i don't trust the duck dynasties where i am at.

Kyle is located in South Phoenix. I am actually getting an x pipe made soon, that should help even more. I know he is booked solid for a bit, but when I get SHO in, then we can will at least have an idea.

I like wrenching on cars. Very rare an upgraded part sits in my garage more than three days before I start installing it.

I have done everything to my car sans transmission replacement and actual front strut spring swap.

Okay here's the parts sitting in my car backseat and trunk

2 Front axles, 2 front hub bearings, 2 front struts plus lowering springs, 2 front sway bars, back shocks lowering springs and sway bars. finished drilling holes for the caliper brackets covers, engine/trans torque mounts, front brake pads, Spark plugs, coils, thermostat, throttle body, noisemaker delete, 3 bar but I think need a tuner before I can put that on. Finish installing 3D camera system and probably a few other things I can't get off the top of my head
