End of the line for the Taurus, stuck injector killed cylinder 1. Gonna look around for a used engine maybe but its not looking good for it.

Sorry to hear this! Did you not have any prior warning signs?

Sorry to hear, car-part.com, LKQ, etc are your best bets. 2010-2019 transverse are basically the same, with minor differences that can be accommodated. 2013+ engines may be the best pricewise.

Nope. Was running great until it started misfiring, then it was black smoke out the side and fuel smell. Replaced the injector and the cylinder has low compression, and it still runs rough.

Yeah car part has a few engines in the 2k range, probably my best bet.

Well this may be the last update on this thread, not sure how much more I'm going to do but after a lot of deliberation with uh gf we've decided to keep the car for the foreseeable future. Last year I had a junkyard engine put in, 15k miles less than the odometer. The shop that did it also put the stock exhaust back on but dropped it down to 2" then stepped back up to 2.5" so I had that replaced at my normal shop and a Borla pro xs put in with the factory mufflers removed. The lift is off, new struts since the lift destroyed both of the bearings, also new sway bar links for the same reason. Factory wheels are back on and I'm getting pilot 4s's soon. Removed the push car since it looks like bootlicker ******** on a street car and debadged the back. I may make a new thread if I keep modding since its not the same car anymore, but who knows.

A final update, sold it to Carmax today. Been a good few years and I'll still pop in to watch some of the builds, but as of now I'm Taurus free

Funny coming back and reading this thread, since then I've been in a few different cars and moved from SC to WA. And I'm heavily considering selling the Q60 I'm in now and getting another SHO, because nothing I've had since has touched the taurus when it comes to road trips. So, this is what replaced the taurus but it may not be permanent. The SHO is the only car I've kept as long as I did, I think 4 years. The only exception is the F250 I inherited from my grandfather, that's obviously something I'll keep for life.
