Tips came in yesterday. Rims where supposed to be dropped yesterday but needed a signature, and I missed the delivery by 20 mins. I was really annoyed, but whatever. Have to leave work early to get them today.

Trim was dropped off at the painter, so yeah... Things are moving along.

Paint correct will go this weekend. I have everything that needs to be done, and it won't be a big correction. I will prep it and wash it today because I am leaving work early. I will take out the brake lights out, and remove the spoiler as well. I want it done correctly, because if I get all of the problem areas now, they wont be a problem going forward, and she is a garage queen now.

Since the front clip/bumper is sagging, the headlights won't have to come out. This will give me a really good time to completely clean the transmission cooler as well. This time, I am going to zip tie the top corners of the clip when I reinstall it, because those push clips are terrible. I only have a couple of panels that are bothering me, so I will work on those, and get them perfect. Then I will apply two coats of "The Last Coat" to the car and she will be ready for when then trim is done. After that, I will be a bit more happy with the exterior.

So yesterday I got the rims, and yanked the stock rims and tires off. I inspected and they look good. I cleaned then and added The Last Coat to whole rim. I stuffed everything into the focus and off I went to the tire shop to have them mounted and balanced.

Then I washed M and looked at her in the sunlight
for a formal inspection. I ended up compounding the trunk, rear passenger side quarter, and hood. With just compound she looked a lot better. She is coming along.

Had strongman training this morning. Swung by the tire shop and picked up my stock rims and my new Curva Concept C7's wrapped in my Continentals.

Got them installed and they look sharp. I cleaned them and sealed them again. I like how it looks.

Tomorrow I will finish the paint correction. Then all is needed to finish the car is the painted trim. Hopefully, mid-week the car will be ready to celebrate AMERICA.

Your dedication to detailing is truly something else. It certainly pays off though.

This is the first car I actually have had a lot of interest in detailing and paint correcting. I use it like therapy, and I learn. I have the time and motivation.

By the time I buy my Aston, I will be a pro at paint correction and that car will be super clean.

Love the Curvas. I’m pretty well set on curvas just not sure which ones in the future. Look forward to seeing how TLC hold up for you. I’d like to find something like that to use instead of ceramic and maybe stack with the P & S bead maker

So she now is polished and protected. I still have to work on the spoiler but that will wait another day.

Just waiting on the trim to come back and the exterior will be done, except the quad tips.

Might have this whole black paint thing figured out.

Also for some technical data.

Stock Rims and Tires: 60 lbs
Curva's with Tires: 54 lbs

I went with Curva Concepts C7's in 20 inch, 8.5 inch wide, with a 38 mm offset. They sit pretty damn flush and I like them.

My tires are pretty much new Conti's 245's. The car cut a 1.77 on them at the track.

I don't drive the car much so, I just couldn't justify spending another $1200 for a new pair of 275's and the wider rim set up. The good thing is, I can fit a 255 on these rims easy, possibly even a 265. So either way I win.

I am going to install the upgraded trans mounts, DP's, and tips and head back to the dyno.

Hopefully she cracks 400 awhp. If she doesn't, I will give up on that endeavor until the upgraded HPFP and GH turbos go on.

I will then head to the track, and see whats happens. I have had some spin and shudder/wheel hop in the past. I will see that the new rims and mounts do.

If it still spins, I might just throw a pair of drag radials on a set of flowers for the fronts and see what happens. If works it better, I will buy another pair of Curva's and mount the drag radials on them. The car will pretty much live on drag radials for the street for the future. Then when I go on a road trip, just take the drag radials off and throw back on the Conti's

Trim is done, and ready for pick up. Looks like I will be putting her back together tonight.

Also my new trans mounts are in. With a wider contact patch because the new rims are wider and them being a bit lighter I am going to do some zero to 60 testing.

IIRC the car goes 4.43 zero to sixty (spins a bit) on 40 psi in the tires. That has me thinking.

New Rims as it sits:

0 to 60 at 40 psi in the all tires. Record findings.

Then drop the fronts to 26 and redo the 0 to 60 pull. Record findings.

Add the mounts:

Repeat both tests.

Add DP's and New Tune:

Repeat both tests.

That should give me some damn good data on each modification.

I removed all of the trim, and I prepped 90% of the trim. My buddy masked it, etched it, and sprayed it. Out the door was $350.

Trim prep and paint prep took most of my time. Plus after the gym and the heat...I didn't finish lol.

I have the trunk and lights put back together. The whole front is also together. Working on the sides today.

Maybe I missed it, but are you still running the stock air box with a K&N panel filter? With all the mods you’ve done, that definitely speaks volumes on CAI vs stock set-ups, no?

BTW - Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Yep just a K&N drop in, in the stock air box.

So the SHO has a crack in the garbage windshield that Safelite put in the car. I am going to request that they replace the windshield with OEM Carlite Soundscreen this time. This also means that I have to get the damn banner re-done. Not a big deal, just a time waster. However, rather annoying.

The car is getting copper metallic overlays for the ford ovals when they arrive I will install them.

I am also going to pull the front clip off the car this weekend. My trans temps (even with the PP cooler) are warmer than I want. Cruising at 80-85 mph here in the heat of Phoenix I am seeing 207 degrees. Ford says 100 degrees over ambient is acceptable...but not for me. I am going install a larger cooler, and make it fit in the stock location. Cooler is below. My local speed shop has the same one for 5 bucks less. So why not?
