2013 PP SHO, Corsa Exhaust, 79k miles.
PTU flushed 2 weeks ago.
Oil changed 3 weeks ago.

When I change to sport mode and give it a decent amount of power, the car kind of jerks a little bit as I start to accelerate and I hear a crackling or popping noise from the exhaust. No check engine light, no funky smells, just sounds like someone is cooking some popcorn on the back of my car. The popping usually lasts a couple seconds and happens when I accelerate and let off the gas too.

Is this normal? The jerking isn't violent or anything crazy, but it's still noticeable.

I'm scheduled to get my spark plugs changed out, MAF sensor, and throttle body cleaned in a few weeks.

My sport mode automatically downshifts the car and then she gets after it. Is that what you are feeling? It is completely noticeable in my car.

I think the crackling and popping is the Corsa exhaust. They are know to drone and make noises. The 3.5 Ecoboost sounds like crap with an aftermarket exhaust, so I assume that is why Ford has a bigger resonator and mufflers stock.

That very well could be it. I did it on the way to work today, but it only did a few small crackles. I'll test it out again on my way back.

If it jerks, it makes me think misfire under load-how old are the sparkplugs? If it just pops, possibly an exhaust leak, but that typically happens on deceleration. Hi load misfires are usually spark related and the coil/boot would be less likely to me than the plug.

I have had a few issues when I'm WOT. About a week after I got the car, I went on the highway and did a pull. The car did some sort of shudder and the CEL started flashing. I couldn't go above 60 MPH when it started flashing. After that, I pulled over, turned the car off, turned it back on, and it was driving like normal. I don't have an idea how old the spark plugs are (I'm guessing they are fairly old), but I do have my scheduled maintenance coming up at my shop. Changing spark plug, boots, cleaning MAF sensor and throttle body.
