Is there evidence to support the 170 is better or worse than the 160 on this particular engine?

I am sure there is for a minimal power gain. I would rather let my car run at the temp Ford designed it at for the thermal expansion of the rotating assembly.

Its a good mower thus far.. my Husqvarna motor finally died after 6 years... this one moves! My neighbor was laughing causes I was literally running behind it to keep up.

Oh.. and I "fit" it in the trunk of the SHO.. hung out a bit.. but fit.. (ish)
Lol It's definitely fast! I'm gonna get some VTEC decals for it.

lots of LMS no love running around but I think LMs is the Segway drug to newbie tuning. Really for the plug and play they are great. you need to look at how we all get started and if you don't want to get past the basic LMS gets you quite a ways in for not much money.

My LMS/LME Downpipes are made by American Racing Headers.
They just can't be found on Amazon for less than half the price. Lol.

I am very sorry to hear about the thermostat. I've had one in my own personal vehicle for years so I can tell you this is not a common occurrence. If it's over a year old it is out of warranty unfortunately. If you'd be interested in getting a replacement let me know and I can always speak with management to see what we can do to help out.

Also if you guys are still running the v11 tune and have any issues with the 1-2 or 2-3 shift type of stuff there's an update we released a while back now that should take care of those issues. Please PM or email me your info including the tuner serial and I'll make sure you guys are up to date with the latest updated tunes.

I think that revision dampened the power.

I think that revision dampened the power.

They said it would. You can’t run the load that V11 demands with the AFRs they are demanding....

Soooo... either lean it out or lower the power... LMS has said they will not lean it out for safety reasons... soooo...

Less power it is.

I have been paying attention. Matt has an SHO. He has done a lot of the performance trials and errors on his own personal SHO. I know the more he tinkers the more he figures out and uses that theory in his tunes. He flat out knows what he is doing.

This is complete speculation on my end. I think Matt knows what LMS knows in regard to Ford's "proprietary" software. LMS claims to be able to see things other tuners can't because they work exclusively with Ford. I think Matt now knows this too, and is better at tuning it. There are numerous posts on the other website where GH & AJPTurbo have publicly questioned LMS, and LMS' answers were not consistent nor held up to critical logic in regards to tuning.

Even look at this thread, they've responded to the thermostat questions and completely ignored all the shift issues. When I go back to tuned it's absolutely going to be Matt because I need someone like him that will tailor a tune to a specific car, and since nobody else has an exhaust like mine or heavy tires I don't want something canned.

I seriously doubt LMS has any “insider” info from ford about their ecu software/logic, maybe in the beginning in 2010 when the SHO launched they could of had the inside track to a first to market tuning device but 9 years into this thing the playing field is level. I don’t think it’s even really know who is revising these tunes from LMS.

+1 for both AJPTurbo & Gearhead Motorsport (Matt).

You are correct. I was a LMS fan in my infant days of researching and buying my SHO. They used to be the plug and play king. However the more I researched, the more I realized I wanted to be involved in the tuning process. Plus their old tuning device is garbage IMHO.

I did my research and decided that Brad at AJPTurbo was going to get my business. He has been awesome. Full transparentancy, willing to explain what he is doing and why. He taught and explained to me what I should be looking for in my logs, and his tunes flat out work. Never did or have I believed my SHO was being compromised. Also I have explicitly told him to put my SHO on the edge. I highly recommend Brad.

Now Matt at Gearhead is killing the game as well. His tunes flat out work, and they are safe. If you want a plug and play tune, the Auto Octane tune is the way to go. It makes more power and is safer than the LMS tune. Matt also has the ability to tune everything on the EB platform from mild to wild! Not only that, he is a big driver of the performance market for our cars with the GH Intercooler upgrade, the GH turbo upgrade he can tune them. I have only heard good things about Matt as well. I highly recommend Matt too.

I feel LMS as taken a couple of steps back in the past calendar year. I honestly believe the look at the SHO as a dying platform, and they are redirecting their tuning teams to other platforms. I get that. That is business, but at least say it publicly. The catch can reversal and walk back started it. They said for years the SHO did need one. Yet when they introduced their variant to the public, the SHO need it then. The V11 fiasco with no viable reason/explanation for why the fuel pressure was complete dog shit. However the only fix they came up with was either we reduce power of throw our upgraded HFPF on it. ******** again. My E30 tune makes more power with stable fuel pressure using the stock HPFP, than LMS' 93 octane cars with meth. Right now the elephant in the room is the Big Problem Debacle that both parties are still being silent on. All of these LMS issues are documented here and on EPP forum.

LMS has claimed they have the inside track on Fords "proprietary" software. That is directly from them. Those are not my words, it is theirs. They market it as a selling point.
