Interesting... agreed. Better tires would get me there for sure.... add downpipes and both tunes are in the 11’’s
Curious though.... yours had more torque, but what does the torque curve look like? I’m at 400+ torque almost instantly.

To answer your questions directly about the V11 issue and tuners "tuning around the problem".. the answer is that the V11 tune is a summer oriented tune. LMS is just running too rich at the load they are running for the stock HPFP. Colder air compounds the problem since their tune doesn't adapt for it. Gearhead's tune will pull back the boost when the air is colder cause you are already hitting desired load. LMS will start to close the throttle. Different approaches but one works better than the other as preventing low fuel pressure issues.. aka stuttering/hesitation.
But from LMS standpoint.. if they roll back to another tune with less power then people get pissy about it and complain. The tune will run fine in the warmer months no doubt... might be worth loading the 91 octane V11 tune when its colder out.
I'm talking to Anthony now about the V11 tune i'm having major issue with hesitation on WOT. Anthony's answer was "This is caused by the high pressure fuel pump pressure dropping because these cars are physically making so much power that they need more fuel system." LMS gave me a winter tune has anybody tried the new tune i did not installed yet= looking for some feedback please, i read the new tune is safer but not as much power?.....I've also read GH has fixed the shifting and hesitation problem with there tune if so please let me know..... Thanks

The fuel pressure problem is running them too rich and puting extra demand on the fuel system. The argument is durability at wot from running leaner. From my experience, too rich and not enough timing will cook the catalytic converters much faster than leaning it out a bit because the rich mixture is causing an exothermic event in the cat itself (burning fuel in the cat). This is what happens at startup when raw fuel and negative timing is used to "light off" the cat. You DO NOT want this at wot..... On the cold weather issue, it is very easy to set a load (VE) limit that cannot be exceeded under any condition....

As long as you aren't detonating and cylinder temps are under control (these engines also have piston-cooling oil jets) you are fine. Running leaner also reduces carbon buildup in the cylinder and between the rings that eventually leads to ring gap closure and breaking the tops of the pistons off on high-mileage engines.

No way to actively monitor unless you add a probe. EGTs are a good indicator though and I've monitored on various projects and generally know where they should be.How are we monitoring cylinder temps and do we know the thresholds?

I finally caved to all the rave reviews I've been seeing Gearhead get the last year and half or so. Installed my gearhead tune this afternoon, didn't really have a chance to drive it much until a little bit ago.
Everyone talks about how smooth the shifts are. I always thought, oh they are just feeling the same way my transmission shifts, because mine never seemed clunky or overly forceful. There was probably something wrong with their other tunes, mine is fine.
Well I stand corrected. Compared to the Gearhead tune, every other tune I have used (unleashed, LMS and AJP) is extremely clunky and not smooth at all. I was absolutely amazed by it. It just always feels like you are in the right gear.
If you haven't tried it, I very highly recommend it. I would almost bet my own money that once you try it you will not bother ever switching back to your previous tunes. It's only a hundred bucks.....Matt you need to up your price, because a hundred bucks is not doing your work justice.

Speaking of longevity and oil, running full synthetic SN+ compliant products will aid that effort in the long run. Most major brands are now up-to-date, and boutique oils like Royal Purple and Amsoil as well. Redline's Pro series is what you'd want to run.
