I New livewire ts+ for most of the tuners they are compatible.tou can also use the SCT X3 X4 to load GH tunes.most tuners use SCT it's a whole different tune.Did you need to purchase a new computer (tuner ) or were you able to use the livernois tuner and just purchase the new file?
Matt from Gearhead is one **** of a guy, very responsive, knowledgeable, and honest! With his tune my car shifts lightning fast, it's amazing, more power and torque than LMS, and no WOT hesitation!
Made 15+ hp on Gearhead and no drivability issues on Gearhead.I think it was Stealblueshow in one of the FB forums that showed his drag results of GH vs LMS and there didn't appear to be any appreciable performance differences between the tunes.

Needs driver mod for launch too.... Too much extra powa....LOL15+ hp Matt? Quit being modest......

Oh ok. It looked like the quarter times were about the same.
They are but SBS said he had traction issues with GH. I'm sure he will chime in.Oh ok. It looked like the quarter times were about the same.
What's GH doing different and is this extra power over LMS potentially detrimental in any way? I appreciate that that LMS has a long and safe history . I'm not saying GH isn't safe but there isn't a history to substantiate its safety .

I agree, once he gets the launch down with the new mods the car should break 11s as it is.
They are, however the Gearhead tune makes 24 more hp and 36 more ft of torque. If SBS can launch the car better it goes 11's as is with the GH tune. The Livernois tune will not.
Go back and read this entire thread! LMS was about to blow my engine and transmission up! I had LMS since about 500 miles on the car and the last year it would completely miss shifts and act like it popped into neutral and would hit the rev limiter and smoke billow out my exhaust! Then, on the highway under WOT, there was horrible hesitation. Then LMS was blaming everything but their tune.
GH gave me much better numbers on the dyno than LMS and the shifting is literally a million times better and no WOT hesitation. LMS served me very well for about 4 of the 5 years I used them - but again read this thread and all the people's comments and then read the thread title LMS Bounces off Rev Limiter.
Interesting LMS put less load on the engine yet was able to produce the same drag times .Yes, I had traction issues this go around... I tried launching from 1700rpms x 2, 1800rpms, and 2000rpms... my best times were at 1700rpms and still spun. My Pzeros are almost at the wear indicator. Best was a 1.860 60ft with GH..
I cut a 1.810 60ft with the LMS tune on the same day. LMS also has significantly less torque down low.
Last year I cut a 1.801 with GH E30 before the updated tune/IC from Matt. Also, my tires were in much better condition.
There are DRASTIC differences on the trans tuning between LMS and GH. LMS has BPD1151 running his stock trans/TC/PTU/RDU and holds the record. Never heard many LMS tuned cars with trans issues...
The load difference is substantial as well between the tunes. I asked Matt about it, he said we are pushing the turbos past efficiency so there is less return on the extra boost. LMS ran much less load which would be easier on the motor...
GH runs more load and runs a much different trans strategy but if you can nail the launch, it has more in it. I was switching between tunes, had tires that are done, and forgot my tire pressure gauge so I didn’t really get to keep them correct or play with them.
Give me a day with a single tune and time to play with tire pressure... my 60ft will get better.

You read the traction issue part?Interesting LMS put less load on the engine yet was able to produce the same drag times .
I did . Certainly seems to have affected some out of the blue. How many though over all the cars this tune is on over all of the years and in your case for 5 years? Sounds like a small number if those two threads are any indication although that's irrelevant to those afflicted .
I was experiencing some hesitation too but it cleared up I'm assuming when the weather changed .
In any case hopefully the GH tune will stand the test of time like LMS has .
