Judging from all the comments I gather these must be fun cars! @krewat thanks for the close up picture, definitely love that color (my vette is basically that same color). @SM105K reading through your thread was very insightful and now I've determined that I really should get an SHO. I can deal with the more rigorous maintenance schedule as I love working on cars and if I'm down to only a truck and a car I'll have the extra time to put into it. I just love the idea of having a sleeper and blowing the doors off of some two seater on the way to work/my kids soccer practice lol. Are these cars pretty easy to work on yourself as far as modding goes? One thing I love about the ST is that all of the mods I've done (full exhaust, intercooler, motor mounts, cc, cai, stoptech brakes, etc) have been very straight forward and had a very low count of four letter words uttered (minus the blow off valve, that was a huge PITA). If/when I get an SHO I would probably do the H&R springs, cc and better brakes right off the bat and then eventually do full exhaust, map sensor, plugs, intake, thermostat and tune. What do you northerners w/PP do for winter wheels? I was looking on tirerack and a set of new 20's or 19's with snow tires and tpms is freakin expensive, are second hand regular taurus wheels hard to find?

The PI cars and the PP cars share a better piston. They are more durable. Ford designed then for the PI car because they spend alot of time idling then get full blasted with WOT doing police things.

I have done all of my mods except replacing the trans and mounting the H&R Springs to the actual struts. Everything is pretty much straight forward.


I just want to put a BOV and H&R's on my ST. It is my daily so i really dont like to beat on it. I alread put powerstop brakes on it as well. It is a twitchy little car, which makes it that much more fun.

@SM105K when you do the BOV make sure you get an extremely long 5mm ball-end hex wrench. It makes it much easier, for me the hardest part was trying to get the new bolts started when putting the BOV in. Small space plus fat hands equals many swear words lol. Also would be a good idea to have an extendable magnet available for when you inevitably drop a bolt or two and it gets hung up somewhere.

I'm on my 5th season on Blizzaks. I just get then remounted every year. I never felt saver in a car during winter than this combo.

Do they all fit flush? Backs don't stick out being 10"?

I just desired a staggered setup. Not really much more of a reason beyond that.

Yes, flush.

No rubbing prior to my massive audio install. Post audio install, a rare bump here or there, would cause a rare rub in the rears, at like the 2 o'clock position where there's a tab (that protrudes inwards) which helps fasten the rear bumper cover.
