Can anyone confirm if these axels are correct?

Hello again!
I recently ordered some auto parts and a few of them ended up being wrong. (Only after I had to cut out the old parts to install the new ones of course)

Anyway.
I needed front axles for a 1994 taurus SHO MTX 5 speed stick. That's what I ordered and this is what I get. Can anyone confirm if these are correct before I try to get them installed? I'd like to know as quickly as possible because I plan on returning the other parts that didn't work.

Here are the pictures

Thanks in advance

If anyone could also recommend Canadian suppliers to get these parts I'd greatly appreciate it. Please no rock auto, they have been really horrible to me in the past.

They look like the right parts, however you need to check the length and spline count on the ends.

I have ordered axles from Shosource and the last one I bought were made by Surtrack. It was a right side MTX axle for my 92, part number FD8079. You can look on ebay and there is a seller selling a pair of left and right MTX axle with the length and number count of the splines. I can't verify the left part number, but the right side one is the same

That's somewhat reassuring. Do you know where I can find the correct lengths and spline counts just so I could try to check these myself? Hearing they look correct has given me a bit more hope at least :)

Since we are not supposed to post ebay links (except in the Shofinds section), you can just go to ebay and type in FD8079, look for the ad that has a left and right front axle and it shows the length, spline counts, etc.

Your right side axle resembles the OEM version. Instead of the full cylindrical end piece, the OEM version is scalloped longitudinally in three places.

That actually helped me a lot. Thank you! I'm kinda beat today so I'll check all that stuff later. but knowing the part number helped a lot.

Pics look OK. Drive shafts I know fit as follows. Go to Autozone to make sure that the specs are the same as the ones you have:

RH, Duralast 8368N: https://www.autozone.com/drivetrain.../400245_706331_0_3498_78656?&searchText=8368N

LH, Duralast 8339N: https://www.autozone.com/drivetrain/cv-axle/duralast-gold-cv-axle/401334_0_0?&searchText=8369N

Also check that the ABS teeth spacing are the same as what is currently in your car. A regular Taurs ABS ring has different spacings and, if installed, will cause the ABS to kick in at every stop.

I have original OEM axle shafts for a 1992 SHO MTX. When I replaced mine due to them leaking I sent them out and had them rebuilt/remanufactured.

The ones you showed looked good to me. Though it’s been awhile since I installed them on my car

Where did you have them rebuilt? I have some OEM ones that I would like redone as well.

I gave them to NAPA and they sent them out for a rebuild. Apparently it was done by A1 Cardone. Did a real nice job on them. They also rebuilt the original powerbooster for my 1969 Thunderbird as well. Same deal. I took it to NAPA and they sent it out to have it rebuilt.

Thanks for the info, did you get the exact same axles back or were they replacement/exchange

Same ones back. I can tell they are the same because of the pitting on the axle shafts. Also they took pictures and sent them with the axle shafts . Same with my powerbooster. Takes a few weeks though so don't expect them back right away.

NAPA doesn't stock the CV Axles for our cars anymore. The will sell you the rebuild kit, but not the OEM axle. All they offer is a return and rebuild option.

They are missing the dust shields that go on the ledge just inboard of the outside spline. If you look at the pics of the Autozone shafts, you will see what I mean. Prevents dust getting into the wheel bearing. If you have your old shafts, they can be transferred.

That’s what I did. I carefully pried off the shields from the old cv shafts and put them on the new ones. They were still In good shape. You don’t think you can get those dust shields anymore though. So if they are missing or too damaged to be reused you would probably have to go junk yard hunting
