Hey members. Want to start this thread by thanking all of you for all of your great input and stories. I haven't posted, but have read and researched a ton. That said, I'm reaching out to the community as I would like to start thoughts and input on doing this:

Concept...I want this wagon:

I would like to take the rear of a wrecked 2011-16 Ford Edge and have it as the basis for my hatch. I've done some early measurements, and It is the perfect dimensionally. I realize the cost and not afraid of that, just want to best shop that can handle this kind of work. The key is to have it look a FACTORY AS POSSIBLE.

I still want a sleeper so all of the normal performance goodies...but aesthetically, a stand-alone like no other. I've seen on another nice rendering, but this is more along the line of what I want. Just want your opinion before I go down this rabbit hole. Thanks again guys :)

why not start with an MKT EcoBoost and put the SHO front clip on it?

Always in favor of a wagon :) 2011-14 Edge are gen 1.5, 2015-18 are gen 2, 2019+ are gen 2.5. Don't know how many dimensional issues between the gens, if any.

Dodge Magnum wagons were sweet. Also the SHO powertrains stuffed into SLO Taurus wagons :)

That does look awfully nice. Shame Ford doesn't listen to customers and build one. I'd buy one. As for the CTSV Wagon, I seriously looked into them before the SHO. Cost was definitely the reason It's not sitting in my garage.

I have always liked wagons and never understood why they were abandoned.
The Taurus wagons of all generations were particularly nice, and in the 3rd generation, was my preferred style.

Good luck.

Won't be a sleeper but will cost a lot less to just get a Flex LTD with Ecoboost. All the room you could ever want and runs great!

Thanks for the input. I think the MKT is a good idea, but I never was in love with the rear of the car....looked frumpy.

I did see the Porsche GT yesterday and fell in love, but this would be a one-off so I air towards the side of uniqueness :)

Reminds me of my Audi and so many Americans that **** over the Audi RS6 Avant! This is one major power wagon that the Europeans get to rub in our faces!

I have seen a few gen 1 and 2 wagon conversions out there. Some of them were very well done. I almost bought one in Detroit and found one in Pittsburgh (home) also. Also had one made but the cost got a little too high so I abandoned the idea. By the way, check out the European Fusion wagons, there are pretty sharp and are sold as Mondero Wagons. Good luck with your project! I’ll take one if you ever get it figured out. I had an 89 LX wagon and 89 SHO at the same time, both in light titanium. Missed opportunity!
