Sizzling noise behind dash - 2010 SHO

2010 SHO with 63,000 miles....Just started noticing a sizzling noise (like throwing cold water on hot iron) which sounds to be coming from behind the dash (glove box area) when driving in colder weather. it happens during acceleration or when turning left or right. Happens first thing in the morning then goes away. Seen post about gurgling noise and possible air bubbles in heating system...could this be the same issue? Any assistance before I take it to the dealer again..(just had to replace starter $450.00) to have them tell me I need to replace heater core....

I am thinking more like blocked evaporator drain, if these cars have one. that can cause water to collect behind the dash and splash into the blower motor especially on turns. Just a thought.

Where is the evaporator drain...this issue seems to be worst after a rain event..so you may be right..

****UPDATE****
Well just picked up my car today after spending a total of $1,150.00 ($350.00 for oil change, inspection, interior environmental filter and other little things) the additional $800.00 was to fix the sloshing/sizzling water sound behind the dash and no air from defroster/heater...

Here's my warning...MAKE SURE THE DRAIN HOLES IN YOUR SUNROOF ARE NOT CLOGGED!!!!

Apparently when the drains holes are plugged the water will find its way into the four roof pillars, down into the dash, completely soak the environmental filter, and proceed to fill the interior floor beneath the carpet, throughout the front/back driver and passenger side, the interior of your driver and passenger doors...oh and the trunk too!!! Once the environmental filter is saturated air flow (air conditioner/heater is choked off) thus no heat and foggy windows and lets not forget the continued sloshy/sizzle sound. at this point I had 2 options...do nothing and let the car dry out itself and hope no damage to electronics or growth of mold/mildew or have the dealer remove dash, seats (front and back) and all carpet/padding and dry the car with blowers and clean interior. Well based on my total bill you can guess I chose option #2...

So once again...MAKE SURE YOUR DRAIN HOLES IN THE SUN/MOON ROOF ARE CLEAN

Completely out of curiosity where are the drain holes outputs located on this car? Mine is garage stored and only driven in nice weather, but I want to make sure they're good can clear. Since it's away for the winter, I have lots of time to do whatever because it's not going anywhere for awhile.

Man I was hoping they just found a dead cat being cooked by your engine causing the sizzling noise! OK, I'm kidding, I love animals but that's another thing people need to check during these cold winter months! Cats will look for warmth anywhere including engine compartments. If you live where you know there's cats outside always tap and knock ******* your hood or fender before starting car to scare off any animal that maybe trying to cozy up to the engine.

UGH!!! just got in car this morning after overnight steady rain..started car, pulled out and heard the water sloshing/sizzling sound behind the dash again!!! and this time, I noticed the heater/AC blower was not working. This is after spending $800.00 for a complete teardown of interior to have the dealership un-clog the sunroof/moonroof drain lines and dry-out and re-build a saturated interior and replace environmental filter.

After taking the car back to the dealership and after the techs investigated the reason for blower failure; I was told the windshield cowl was warped (due to excessive heat, I guess the sun shine hotter here in Pennsylvania) and was not directing the water to the drain located at the passenger side corner; thus causing the conveyance of rainwater to enter the dash area and leak into the blower box causing the blower to rust and fail.

So, $400.00 for a new HVAC blower and installation and $200.00 for cowl removal, investigation and replacement. Another $600.00, thus totaling $1,400.00 cause the SHO (at least mine) is not allowed to be in the rain. My next move is to buy 10,000 cans of the rubber spray stuff you see on TV totally cover/encapsulate my ride in that shit to keep the rain out

The Sun/Moon roof drain lines are located at each corner. open roof and you will see the rain gutter that leads to a 3/8" hole. that hole is the drain line. blow compressed air into the hole and test by pouring water (slowly) into the gutter. if the water backs up or you see bubbles you have a clogged or slow drain.

Don't drive your SHO on the PA roads either, I hear they got lots & lots of potholes LOL.
