So $3066 later I officially have a brand new and QUIET PTU in the SHO. I’m still irritated about not only the price but the fact they wouldn’t allow any customer supplied parts since that would have saved me at least a grand off the cost right there.
But for what it’s worth I have a dealership supplied Ford PTU and that comes with a guaranteed 2 year/24,000 mile warranty. Also offered a loaner vehicle and/or shuttle service to and from the shop for larger repairs that take longer to complete, but they had it done by 9:30 this morning after giving them the approval to do the repair yesterday morning at about the same time, parking lot and work bays were completely full of vehicles so I’m pretty impressed how quickly they got it in and out.
With all that said….

It’s like a brand new car! Whisper quiet and it even drives better and feels more responsive, **** it even accelerates MUCH faster than it was, didn’t think it would have that much of an effect of acceleration and drive quality.
Here’s the shop estimates and my bill for what was done for reference.
