License plate bulbs

how do you get the house out to change the license plate bulbs. I want to put leds in. Took the screws out but couldn't figure out how to get the housing out

If the tip of your phillips screwdriver is small enough just stick the tip of it into one of the screw holes and just pop it out. There is rubber seal around the bulb lens making it a little snug.

Does just the housing come off or the black part around it come out as well

The black part around it does not come out, just the lens.

Tried prying it out with a flat head screw driver. I couldn't get the housing out. Felt like I was gonna break it. It's making me mad

Try removing the lens first then the housing. Removing the lens first should make the housing more flexible to remove.

Couldn't get either out. You would think that you just remove the screws and it would come out

While the lens cover should come off with a little tugging the whole housing comes out easily if you use a small flat head on the side where there is a little indent. It's hard to spit but its there. Push in and it should pop right out. They are 5.50 a piece with new bulbs fro. The Ford dealer so you could always just buy new ones and drop them in. I just did this...

Is the indent on the side of the black outer part or by the lens itself?

Just start on one side. Slide the screwdriver in to the notch and keep pushing with moderate force as you have to push a plastic clip in some

I just installed some from AutoGlow - the most pure white color I've seen! I had some previous LED license plate lights installed but the had a hint of blue and looked cheap to me! These ones look factory, like the ones that came on my Audi!

I installed the entire interior light kit from auto glow except for the trunk light (went a different route) just a couple of days ago and like them a lot.
