Hi, I went from looking into SHO's to buying one in about a week. Today I purchased a 2010 SHO with 70k miles, paid 17k out the door with and the car is certified.
So far I've only driven the car home from the dealership, but I love how it drives, adaptive cruise is the best thing ever!

Anywho, what should I do to the car in terms of performance on the cheap? I want some more turbo spool up sound, as I can't hear much at all... Any ideas?

Also on my was home I used the windshield washers and the smell that came out of those things has got the be the most foul rotten egg fart I've ever smelled!!! Andy advise on what I could do about that to clean it out? My guess is that the previous owner had put plain water in there that's been sitting in the Florida heat for months...

Sorry for rambling on, will post some pictures of the car tomorrow!

Thanks :salute:

Welcome to SHOforum, Marius, congrats on your '10 SHO, esp finding one CPO (Ford CPO, I assume). As for the windshield washer issue, take it right back to the dealership and have them fix it. Could be any number of things wrong with it, shouldn't have passed inspection. More than likely the reservoir, tubing, maybe even pump have to be replaced.

Cheapest mods? Drop in K&N filter, BOV vent to atmosphere, putting in new spark plugs and running Techron concentrate through the fuel tank a few times.

Best bang for buck in performance? A tune, with 3 bar MAP and colder TStat. If you are in FL also, the colder TStat will be worth it even without a tune.

Thank you guys for the feedback, I cleaned the windshield washer tank with a water hose and some vinegar. Put some new washer fluid in, and it seems like problem solved.

Any reliability problems with the tune? Also the car doesn't feel that fast to me, but it could be because the dealer probably filled it with 87 octane gas...
I just filled it up today from about quarter tank with 93 octane, hope that will make a difference :)

I'm a little tight on money at the moment, so I'll probably go with an intake to start with, I want some more turbo spool up sound.. Any suggestions as to which intake I should go with?
Also any recommendations on spark plugs?

@SHOdded, Yeah, I bought it from a Ford dealership, it's certified with 12 months/12k bumper to bumper and 7 year 100k drivertrain warranty.

Save the extra 120 bucks up and check out unleashed tuning. It's 400 bucks. The intake doesn't seem to do much

Nice ride. Yea unleashed and livernois are the main 2 for the ecoboost. The livernois guys are very active on here. Torrid at unleashed provides the best service on the Internet, I highly recommend them.

Yes, unleashed is one of the top tuners in ANY game out there. Not the guy to go to if you like to go out in a blaze of glory if you know what I mean ...

Even though regular FI cleaners like Techron and BG44K don't clean the back of the intake valves in DGI engines, they still clean the remaining: fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel injectors, combustion chamber, etc. Worth it? On a car with unknown history? HECK YEAH!!!

If you are lucky enough to have Chevon gas in your area, try it, you might just get addicted!

Thanks for all the feedback guys, before work today, I went and bought a fuel system cleaner (Lucas I believe), and I took the hose off the front blow off valve and capped the intake with chair leg caps from Home Depot.

The rear blow off valve however was a pain in the ass to get the hose off of, I ended up removing the hose form the intake and plugging the intake, but just leaving the hose loose, is that ok?

As I was trying to reach the hose on the back valve I unplugged that little plug that goes into the blow off valve, and I forgot to put it back on so I drove to work like that.. Did I damage anything?

So last night when I drove home from work, I heard a knocking sound, which im guessing is pretty bad.. So i returned the front bov to stock, but the rear one I couldn't for the life of me get the hose clamp on,so I slipped it on without the clamp. Can I still take in to the dealer like that?

Hate knock sounds on the SHO! Yeah, should be fine w/o clamp as long as everything is returned to "stock".

Yeah I returned everything back to stock minus that clamp, so I'm hoping they won't say anything... Best bet is to play stupid

So I took the car to my dealership and said "hey I bought this car 2 days ago, I had my mechanic look at it and these are the things he found that need to be fixed- sunshade in the back isn't working properly, car pulls to the right (steering wheel isn't straight when u go in a straight line), the rear shelf rattles, and the chrome trim on the tail lights is peeling... Oh and it looks like the previous owner has messed with the engine cuz my mechanic said some clamps are missing on the engine...

Obviously I made up the mechanic part lol, but they said they'll take care of everything under the warranty :)

Now all you have to do is hope they aren't members of this forum! :laughcry:
Lmao I hope not! They also said they found play in the steering, and the radar cruise control button isn't working properly... But get this, they said they have to replace the steering wheel itself lol.

Now I wouldn't mind that at all, since my steering wheel is worn out lol, just found that weird..
