I mean it looks good, but "better than powder coating"?

you would have to see in person. Have had rims powder coated on my jeep and in my opinion plastidip looks better. If u take your time and do it right, results are amazing for the price!They look like rims that were Plasti-dipped.

7 coats. About 20-25 minutes in between coats. 1 minute per coat. I actually used rustoleums product, flexibility. I bought both and tried them on a bunch of other tools, toys etc... The flexidip seemed to have a better finish.
On a serious note, I absolutely love plasti dip. Ever since I started messing with it last year it has become addictive. The benefit over paint or powder coat is that it's correctable. If you don't like how it turns out you can change your mind and start over.
In this photo everything black is plasti dipped except the wheels. The wheels are powder coated but if I had it to do over again I would have saved myself $250.

I love me some plasti-dip, and there is a fine line between looking good, and going total rice. Now I don't mean to brag on my dipping skills, but they are pretty damn good. When you use it to create designs and not just go a total color, it looks amazing, and it's an awesome way to test before going to a permanent solution. Here is my rims that I've plasti-dipped. It's a lot harder than it looks, as plasti-dip is a pain to work with while taping. It's a skill you have to develop over many failures.
Here is a comparison of plasti-dipped and the stock rims. This was just a test run so I didn't put a ton of effort into this one. I redid them at a later time.
Here is my car with all wheels dipped and the grill inserts dipped as well.

Tell me about it!!! I have been plastidipping everything I can get my hands on! Car looks sweet! Is that an '89 or '91? I also had a 93 and 94 atx.On a serious note, I absolutely love plasti dip. I used plasti dip on a set of weld dragstars on my 91 mustang. It was cool to see the color change but started to peel on one of the wheels. I cleaned them with brake cleaner, must have missed a spot. Pretty neat how it works. Looked like crap when I sprayed it on, then it leveled out.
