Let's put the PP vs. Non-PP question to rest...

Because it is a NON-PP car. That is why the buttons are in-op. Just verified it with FoMoCo customer service. The 2010-2015 PP cars are all the same. If the buttons are blank and the only configurable option within the Driver Info Center is the TCS toggle than it is a NON-PP, according to FoMoCo.

After you take your foot out of your mouth:snicker:, Not trying to be an ass, but i did post the vin which makes it clear its a 401a with the performance package

OK, in the spirit of "we're-all-awesome-ness"... let's put this "Is this a PP car or NOT?" question to rest. So...

I ran the Ford OASIS report for your VIN. (Don't ask!!!) According to the Ford OASIS report, it has a 3.16 final drive ratio... which is ONLY available with PP. Therefore Screaming01's ride is definitely a Performance Package vehicle (at least it's supposed to be)... with incorrect button installation... and let's face it, there could be other issues as well if your computer menus aren't correct either. (Are they? I have no idea... you really should check that out, compare functionality with what's described in the manual.) I'd post the actual report, but it has the name of the dealership in the service history, and I probably shouldn't be posting OASIS reports online anyhow. What I will post, is the relevant portion:

VIN: 1FAHP2KT7EG128483 Date Requested: 20141012 103045
Vehicle Information
Description: 2014 TAURUS
Body: 4 DOOR SEDAN-6 LITE
Engine: 3.5L DOHC T/C V6 Gas
Transmission: 6 Speed Auto Transmission 6F55
Axle Code: 2A
Engine Callibration: EPH1TK0A
Paint Color: TUXEDO BLACK METALLIC
Radio: ELETR AM/FM STRO/DISC/CLK
Gross Weight: 5600 LB. GVW
Axle Ratio: 3.16 FINAL DRIVE RATIO
Wheel Size: 20X8 CAST ALUM - PREMIUM PAINT
Front Tire: 245/45R20 Y-RATED

I suspect the combination of things said in this thread is what was throwing Livernois' assessment off, which is completely understandable.

But that's it. No guessing, surmising, or speculating... just data direct from the manufacturer properly identifying it. It's PP for sure. DONE!

And yes, Livernois, you're all kinds of awesome and we all still loves ya. You give our cars extra vroom. Woot! Looking forward to your upcoming monster upgrade... which I'm going to start saving up for as soon as we've closed escrow on the purchase of our new house. :omgsho:

Certified pre-owned or not, the fact that you have a PP car with important features of the car MISSING is an issue they MUST address. Call Ford if they give you crap about it. They're under obligation as it's still under warranty, and this is, without a doubt, a manufacturer defect. Force the issue. You'll thank us for it later.

I plan on it. Its just a matter of a few days and the switch/button not being in stock. My guess is the dealers concern is if they put this button in, is the car properly programmed to use it.

Question, can the paddles be made to operate as full manual shift with no computer assist?

Yes, more or less... you shift when you want to in manual mode ("S" on your console), but the computer WILL protect the engine, so if you do something dumb, it will override your shifting decision. I've not heard of anyone having any issue with it, so you should enjoy that.

Ha! Now that's funny.

I also desire the cloaking button..... where you think we can install that?

Here ya go Mike, just for you buddy, just for you...

BTW... I triple-dog dare you to install such a console in your car. I know you want to... with all the amazing stuff you've done to your ride... it's a "must have". ;) :dribble:

To celebrate my new to me esc off button... I went to the track.. ill start with torque reduction sucks. Traction off in S 2000 rpm launch 13.8 @ 102. Traction off in D 2000 rpm launch 13.8 @ 102 . Back in S and peddling the gas between shifts 13.8@ 102.

I put in a call to Torrie :)

Got my Xcal4 tunner and a 93 octane tune from Torrie along with a 3 bar map. I also had him make a stock tune with 3 bar map so i can "detune" it for the wife and her daily commute to and from work or road trips. So far the tune made a nice difference. But dyno greatly approves it. :)

i think 13.0 maybe better depending on weather, but who knows. The tune is really nice but i want to work on the shift points. To me, it seems to shift softer at full throttle than at 3/4 throttle or just a hair off the floor so to spek. Going to do some data logging and sending back the results. Cant do the track for a bit due to a ruptured tendon or two in my bicep/elbow.

Just curious - what made your decision to go with Torrie at Unleashed and not with Livernois? I'm looking to tune my '14 SHO w/PP. Thank you.
