Are you going to take her up to Bandimere to see what she runs at 6,000'?
Trying to decide if I lease a leftover '13 or buy a used '13. I am a bit concerned on the reliability of the SHO. You can get a used 2011 BMW 335xi in the same price range, or a '12 Acura TL SH-AWD, or a '13 Infiniti G37x. Then Subuaru will probably have the 2.0T in the next Legacy. Trying to decide which way to go...

IMO, I wouldn't bother. Would stick with a "domestic" brand. Beemers get you on the backend with maintenance costs when they fall out of warranty; Acuras and Infinitis are just overpriced versions of lower-cost cars (Honda and Nissan, respectively---Acura doesn't even try to hide it; the valve covers are still stamped "Honda".) I've got a co-worker who's got one of the new Minis (BMW-made). He loved the **** out of it, until the warranty lapsed...and then BMW screwed him at every turn. Just to hook up the diagnostic computer and turn off the "Check Engine" light was a $200 charge.
Now...I know there's not a lot of difference between "domestic" and "foreign" brands anymore. Shoot, on the Taurus alone, there's probably 3 different car companies represented!
---The basic frame/undercarriage/suspension is a lift from Ford's involvement with Volvo (the S60, I think).
---The engine is probably a lift from Mazda, although the twin-turbo setup is probably Ford.
---The bodywork and interior is mostly Ford, although I think if I compared the switchgear, I'd probably find more Volvo pieces.
Does that matter to me? In this case no...because the various components work together well enough that I don't notice and therefore don't mind. But BMW/high-end Japanese brands tend to still be proprietary and therefore expensive.
Better to get the Ford.
Dunno. I'm kinda reticent to run the car on the track, because it's my driver...if I break it, I'm not getting back down to the Springs, and not getting back to work.
That said...it's tempting...

Found this on the WEB for anyone who may be interested...No Mazda connection to the engine:
This engine first appeared in the 2007 Lincoln MKR Concept under the name TwinForce.[31] The engine was designed to deliver power and torque output equivalent to a typical 6.0 L or larger displacement V8 while achieving at least 15% better fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse emissions. In the MKR the concept TwinForce engine was rated 415 hp (309 kW) and 400 lb·ft (542 N·m) of torque, as well as run on E85 fuel.[32] When the same prototype engine reappeared in the Lincoln MKT concept in 2008 North American International Auto Show, the name was changed to EcoBoost. Official EcoBoost production began on May 19, 2009 at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1.
The production engines use the Duratec 35 V6 engine block. The fuel charging and delivery systems can attain high fuel pressures of up to 2150 PSI, necessary for efficient operation of the direct fuel injection system. It uses two Garrett GT15 turbochargers which can spin at up to 170,000 rpm and provide 12 PSI of boost. The turbos are set up in a twin-turbo configuration. The engine can consume up to 25% more air over the naturally aspirated counterpart. Through the use of direct injection, the engine needs only regular-grade petrol to run, though premium fuel is recommended. The EcoBoost V6 was first available as an engine option for 2010 Lincoln MKS, followed by 2010 Ford Flex, 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and 2010 Lincoln MKT.[33] The fuel charging and delivery systems were co-developed with Robert Bosch GmbH.[34]
In 2009 Ford modified an experimental 3.5 V6 EcoBoost engine with both E85 direct injection and petrol indirect fuel injection, which achieved a BMEP (brake mean effective pressure) of 395 psi (27 bar), which translates to approximately 553 pound-feet (750 N·m) of torque and 316 horsepower (236 kW)@3000 rpm (flat torque curve from 1500–3000 rpm).[35]
Just to keep this on thread, I was in Colorado in March and did not see one SHO and only a few Taurus's on the highway.
Of course this means our cars get a lot of looks, and comments.

I've noticed a few SHO's up here in northern Colorado, one of which was the recipient of some paintless dent repair at the body shop I work at. I have a 2013 SHO with a corsa cat-back exhaust, air raid CAI, tuned by Livernois motorsports, and H&R lowering springs. I'll probably be taking it to Bandimere in the spring, a mechanic friend wants to see how it'll run against his modified Saab and his friends WRX STI.......should be fun.

Snow time for the SHO! Colorado Springs has gotten roughly 3-5 inches over the last few days...I've already had so much fun trekking down Powers Blvd to get to work. Thursday morning, some idiot in a Dodge Ram pickup almost wiped out into my trunk...guess he was in a hurry. The road had ice under the snow...we both came off a corner, and he came off too fast. I watched him do a donut about 5 feet off my rear bumper in the middle of the road.
More snow this morning; the ice underneath has mostly melted so it's slightly safer. One of the nice things about this elevation (COS is officially listed at about 6100-6200 feet, depending on where you take your reading) is that it's so dry up here that the first day we get any sun, the snow's all gone. Looking forward to throwing snow from all four wheels...!

One other thing...yesterday I commissioned a custom decal for the back window. It's gonna take about a week, but when I get it, and get it put on, I'll post up some pics. If you like what you see, I'll post up the maker's business info. It's a little independent operation up at Chapel Hills Mall.

So you're happy with how the SHO's AWD system works in the snow?
I can't speak for SHO307, but I personally am very happy with the AWD system in the snow.......then of course I did grow up driving V8 rwd cars in the snow, and got quite good at it, so the added bonus of AWD just makes it that much easier for me
So far, so good. I tend to drive cautiously---especially when I've got the 6-yr old in the back---but RGNBULL hasn't shown me any problems. I've watched front-wheel folks spinning all over everywhere, but thus far the SHO has hooked up every time, even on snow and ice.

Hello new owner here in northern Colorado. the AWD seems to work fine with the optional 20" all seasons.
Okay...my laziness is showing...no pun intended.
I've got the decal, but haven't put it on yet...it's a pair of bull heads flanking the letters "SHO". The heads are bigger than I would have liked, but I think it still works.
It's going to take me a couple of months to get it put on; I've got some business to take care of elsewhere and won't be home. I've also still got to fix my door divot on the DS from when I got the rabbit damage fixed. (See my "Wascally Wabbits" thread in the "Maintenance" section from some weeks ago.) But when I get home, these matters will be handled.
