Can't break 13.31. So frustrated.

I have read the threads where guys get into the low 13s and upper 12s with less modification than I've done. Granted, my best reaction time has been a .285, but my runs are consistently within .15 of 13.45--below and above. My fastest speed is 103mph.

I'm running on the stock Goodyear Eagle F1s at stock pressure, with the transmission in Sport Mode and traction control and AdvanceTrac completely off. I just keep the pedal floored for the entire run and let the transmission shift for fastest runs. I've tried shifting as the needle approaches redline, but it just produces slower runs.

Is there anything else I can do to get a 12-second run?

There are a lot of factors in running quicker ET times, besides power. Weight(how full is your tank), weather/humidity, track altitude(sp), traction (though probably not this), also try launching at a different RPM. Theses are something's to consider if you have not already looked at them.

Your reaction time has absolutely nothing to do with your time. You could sit at the light for 15 seconds after it goes green, and still run a 13.31...it starts when you actually start rolling

With that being said, what are your 60' times....what kind of weather are you running in?

I don't know what's up with the temperature listed here. It's more like mid- to upper 80s.

The weather makes a huge difference in the power you make.
Your times are really good for the high temps of august.
Good job!

Exactly. Don't go drag racing in the middle of the summer. I picked up 3-5 tenths between the SHO Convention drag days (the only time I would run in the summer) and the fall drag days at the local track.

I don't know about the new SHO but with my old V8 it was sensitive to intake temps. I found that it ran best if I allowed a long time between runs for the intake to cool and I would push it down the staging lanes without the engine running. You'll need to bring a friend or two to help push that car though seeing how they're about 1000 lbs heavier than a Gen 3.

Colder air is your friend.... I have read few post the best times are usually achieved right after track arrival. Since your intake is cooler and not heat soaked. Run with under half a tank... I used to run with a quarter take in both my Mustang and SHO.

BTW.. those are some nice times....

I tried dragging my old POS on a September night event and found that the traction was a problem especially once the dew set in. I kept waiting for sunny days with temps in the upper 40's-lower 50's. Got a nearly stock '97 into the 14's. I ran 14.8 with a few mods and good weather (but not perfect).

:p It's just that with the full exhaust mods and tune, I was expecting to get into the 12s. There's a new post up where a guy in Lousiana got into the high 12s with just a tune. So it's kind of frustrating. And the track isn't open in the colder months of the year. I guess I'm stuck with what I got.

Road trip to another track?

Years ago I was looking at driving down to Englishtown (a 7 hour drive) in December to try to set the V8 SHO N/A record (14.5 IIRC) but never got a chance. I was watching weather forecasts but they rarely were any better than I sometimes could get here in April or October.

Drag strips are a lot like dynos - times between different strips aren't really comparable. ****, it's pretty well known that ATCO times are usually .3-.5 seconds faster than other strips.

Other things like altitude, temperature, humidity, and even track prep play into ETs. If you are really looking for absolute minimum ETs, make a road trip to ATCO (it's in New Jersey) in September or October. Or just wait a month or two for temperatures to cool down.

Muncie slopes slightly downhill on the last 300 feet or so......plus they have nights that they run until midnight. ;)

There was a lady running a stock ecoboost f150 getting 14.8's last friday night.
