New rear springs...still SAS

I replaced the rear springs, struts, strut mounts, and swaybar end links but the rear end is still saggy. I got the rear springs from Autozone, I believe they were 839s. Struts were cheap Gabriel's from Rockauto. Any ideas on why the rear suspension is still so low?

Struts too far down in the knuckles? Just a thought.

I put them in so that the pinch bolt went through the little bracket on the strut.

Is the current height the same as before with the previous (I assume factory original) springs? You might have the wrong springs. Not much else would cause that low of a height. What is the rear tire size? They look small(er) in the picture.

You may have the wrong struts or springs. Post up the part numbers.

Dod you use a new rear strut mount?

I believe these are the AZ springs being used for the rearend. They seem to be showing the same part number for the SLO sedan as well.

It's pretty much the exact same height as the old stuff. I put on new strut mounts as well since the passenger side was bad.

Springs are from Autozone - RCS839V
Struts are from Rockauto - Gabriel G67518

All tires are 215/60/16, I just checked. Keep in mind, I bought this car in May with a bad clutch and I finally just got it on the road. I double checked the box and they are the correct part number. I guess it's possible the springs were wrong in the box.

That would make it sit that low? I could understand them causing a softer ride but I just don't believe it could cause it to lower that much.

I would say yes. The same problem existed when folks put the Roush SLO springs on their Gen 1-2, or the gen 3 SLO Eibach springs on a Gen 3 SHO.

Unless you change the strut mounting points, struts don't effect height. The coils are the only item(in a stock suspension configuration) that changes height.

Nothing from AZ. If you don't go with Eibach or Intrax, go with the Moog springs. A search of the forum should give you a lot of info. And IIRC they aren't very expensive.

I'm pretty sure these are Moog springs. Gen 1 Moogs are CC839 And these are RCS839V with CC839 listed as an alternate part number.

SHO guys go with the Moog Cargo Coils, and sometimes cut a coil or two, as they make the car sit too high.

Moog makes all kinds of parts for many cars. Again, do a search here on the forum for the Moog springs the guys use. Never used them myself, only Eibach and now B&Gs on my Tokicos.

Many companies use the Moog springs part#s as reference for their springs. This doesn't mean that they are the same construction and specifications. The same thing happens with Fram filters and Monroe shocks.

I used Moog cargo coils with Tokico's on my 89:

The car did not suffer from SAS with that setup and rode incredible. I miss that car!

It is due to the wrong springs for sure. Autozone has a bunch of listings for wrong parts and I would never buy anything other than fluids, expendibles from them; they also list the wrong OEM Champion spark plugs for my Hemi, and also list platinum and iridium plugs, none of which work, as the 5.7 requires copper plugs.
