A little bit of an update... I haven't driven the car in a couple weeks due to a bad wheel bearing which has slowly gotten to a point where I won't drive it until it's fixed. I did not get a chance to go to the dyno a few weeks ago due to other stuff going on and not getting a chance to fully tune the car where I want since flushing out all the 93 octane.

What I can say that the car has gotten considerably faster with just E85 and a few degrees more timing (3 degrees across the board - still could probably get another 5+ in there). I don't have a before video, but back when I was on gas, I raced my buddies E85 - STi turbo swapped WRX and we were dead even to where I would just slightly make a pull before having to shift. Now, he's added an equal length header (probably added ~20 ft-lbs) and I have done E85 and a little tuning and the result is pretty significant (you can get an idea of what that WRX is capable of in the videos above).

I have also not had any issues with the E85. I even pulled the pump to replace with a larger 320 lph pump and everything in the tank looked just as it did the last time I had the pump out in 2007.

I have lost traction in 2nd gear again which was previously gained back with bigger, wider, stickier tires. Now, when I roll onto the throttle in 2nd gear around 40mph, I start laying dark strips with smoke by 50mph.

NOW... Is anyone else bought any ID's yet?!

I don't know why it won't work. I checked and rechecked it. Maybe it limits my videos on a page of a thread?

Are you still running the stock fuel lines with a 320lph FP? I have heard E85 is corrosive overtime on rubber and nylon is the other reason I ask.

I do have Josh's high flow fuel line setup which replaced the entire feed setup. I still have the stock return line. Before running E85, Tim T. sent me a piece of stock nylon line to submerge in E85 over time. I had it submerged for several months and saw no change. E85 should not harm the nylon return line, however, time will tell.

I did not get a chance to get it to the dyno before winter set in. Between that and a front wheel bearing going bad, I didn't even get a chance to finish the tune making it easily drivable (MAF placement on the SS kit becomes tricky) and I know there is a good bit of timing left in it. What I've done so far has made it significantly faster which was noted by how bad I smoked the WRX which was dead even with me on gas.

The new owner will have to take it to the dyno. I actually will not have a chance to finish the tune on the car before it is picked up since the car will not be outside the garage during the corrosive months. A quick dyno tune should show some improvement as it will be more easily to tell where MBT is since E85 will allow you to pass it. I wish I had the time to finish it up myself, but I've concentrated any effort on cleaning it up for the new owner and my next project.

I suspect over 500whp on the same type of dyno's I've used in the past (Dynojet). It's put a hurtin' on quite a few cars this year that surprised the crap out of them.

You will see gains, just not as significant as what a boosted car will.

I would look at it as a cheap alternative to race gas. Being that a Shell started carrying E85 thats about 25 miles from me it is now possible.

The real gains will come from the aggressive tune I will be able to run.

I know where the real gains will be found.. . Remember, I do this sort of thing daily.

E85 will give you more gains than race fuel. On top of high octane, it cools the charge.
