I received the manual tensioner together with the little key that goes in to the tenioner pulley to adjust the tension.

Now, how in the world am I supposed to get enough room to slip in my belt? Even with the smiley face turned all the way to the left there is still not enough room. I got the belt on with the help of a pry bar and little work around but its whining and I'm afraid the whole thing is way too tight.

Ohh and the little tool thing included with tensioner is useless as the bolt unscrews its self.

Does anyone here have this part from SHOsource ? And is there instruction to this crap? Not happy at all after blowing $140 .

This is a new product for us, so we are always looking for feedback, and we are always willing to work with our customers.

We have had a few people, including a Ford dealership, install this product, so it is odd that your timing belt is not fitting. I have not heard about anyone having this fit issue, but We will check a random tensioner on one of our parts 3.2 engines. If the manual tensioner pin is too tall, we will machine it a little shorter. Since you already have the part in hand, you could carefully file or grind the pin a bit to give you a little more play and adjustment.

As for the tensioner tool, the bolt is tightened into the tool with red Loctite, so I don't know how it could have come loose. For future sales, I will weld the bole into the tool, so it will never come loose.

If your timing belt is whining or too tight, you need to fix it immediately, or you risk damaging the engine. Please email us directly info AT shosource DOT com if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Mike

First, I'm not driving the car. Yes. I could see the red Loctite. The bolt basically started unscrewing if I put some tension counterclockwise.

The pin might be too tall like you said . I will have to compare it to my old tensioner. But either way, the belt WONT go in without using pry bar and few other tricks... I will look more in to this on Friday and give you more info.

I don't want to sound like an a$$ hat but for that money I was expecting more. I didn't read the description well and I thought the tensioner had a screw that you could adjust. Never thought it was just fixed in one place.
