Very simple, there was a fire. It sucked. Looks like the engine harnress got the worst of it. Got a '92 mtx and I need to know if a harness out of a 1st gen mtx will work. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Yep, just as long as you get on from a 90 or a 91. The actual engine harness from an 89 shoud work for the engine part also.

You're becoming a massive help to me, Jelloslug. I appreciate it. We finally got everything together and figured out the brake issue and took it for a test drive. We saw the smoke, got out, and saw the fire. Scared the **** out of me, I figured the car was gonna be a total loss. Doesn't look that bad though. Best guess is that there might've been an exposed wire or something and with oil on the harness... it was just one of those things.

Probably the rear cam seal leaking on the cats. I had a chunk pop out of mine a long time ago and oil was just gushing out of it.

Just don't fret too badly if it takes awhile to hear back from them.

You can also contact 1madsho91 as I believe he is in the process of parting a few out, otherwise theres always a WTB.

Just throwing your options at you, if I didn't need the harness for a project, I'd offer you the one from my '92 parts car, but that engine is finding a home in a ranger sometime soon.....:naughty:
