While I don't have the peeling chrome on my 2011, I have a clear film peeling off the Ford logo on the trunk. It's not like the thin plastic film that LCD displays have over them for shipping, this is a hard plastic, almost like clear coat.

My leather/chrome gear shift lever had the same kind of "fake chrome" peeling issue. Dealer did the same thing - took pictures and Ford approved replacement. Just concerned about it happening again, when warranty is over.....

Reminds me of the cylinder head replacement under warranty for 2003/2004 Cobras. Instead of re engineering just replace them and hope the same issue that wasn't corrected doesn't reoccur.

Reminds me of the 1996-1999 Taurus SHO camshaft issues, cept they didn't issue a recall or try and fix anything. Just assumed since so few people cared the problem would take care of itself after every motor had destroyed itself.

My 2012 had peeling chrome taillights. Peeled off the chrome and had it painted black during the painting/tinting of my taillights.

I'M having the same problem with my 2010. Dealer is replacing both tail lamps next week under warranty. Also had finish coming off my 20' rims, getting four new ones next week under warranty as well. So far my local dealer (Stivers Ford of Montgomery) has been great.

I had a brake light not working in one of the tail lights they replaced. Just turned out to be a bad connection but I did notice the rubber seal on one of the nut/washer was ripped. This is the only thing that keeps water from entering the trunk. If they change your lights be sure to check their work.
