I can't see how it can't keep cooler temps under-hood, but was wondering what everyone else has noticed who removed the black plastic cover above the intake.

So is it worth while to pull it off to keep a cooler car?

Engines are almost always better with their covers off. I only leave mine on because it makes it look like a SHO intake.

Long time lurker, first time poster so hello to all and thanks for the community.
I took my cover off and I'm not looking back. I do believe it helps a bit how much is does vs what's in my head is another topic.

I doubt it helps much, if at all. Your engine's cooled by the water-based cooling system, not by the convective cooling of hot air coming off the top of the motor. Besides, removing the cover won't do much good when there's a large non-vented hood only an inch above that.

In any case the car's cooling system will strive to keep the engine at its best operating temperature. If removing the cover did cool the engine significantly, the car would probably compensate to keep it warmer!
