Sweet!

Looked like it moves pretty well and stays flat in the corners. Just wish I could have heard more engine/exhaust sound.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice find, I also wish they rolled the windows up, so there wouldn't be so much wind noise and maybe you could hear that engine better.

You can tell the driver was taking it easy too, there's not even any tire squeal.

Should've scrolled back a bit to see more of the cockpit. Nevermind the closer to the windshield you are, the slower the footage looks. Can't get too excited about quick glimpses of the nav and top of the dash...:munch:

to be honest it was not that exciting. Neat to see roaming around but uninteresting. I don't think that video can be released yet either. Maybe that is why it was pulled.

I dont know what the deal is.... everywho wants to see the car has. It will be at my local dealer in a month or 2. SO I say Let the People SEE! Bring back the video.

That drive-around video of the SHO prototype on the track was removed from my YouTube account because I received an email from a FoMoCo lawyer the day after it was posted. :(

Out of curiosity, how would that circumvent the intent of the letter he received from the FoMoCo lawyer? It wasn't YouTube that removed the video.

OK, I've finally had the chance to post the video. It's my own created content from May 2009, and is hosted from a secure private server. Follow this link- http://tinyurl.com/7v8blmk and download the video to your PC by entering the user name 'Brian_05_SEL' and password 'TCCA1' when prompted.

This is riding shotgun in a prototype 2010 Taurus SHO during a TCCA-sponsored track day on May 9th, 2009 at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI. The car in question was due to be handed over to Mark Fields the following day as his newest company car. This is not the same red SHO featured in Car & Driver's Sept. 2009 issue; there were actually two nearly identical prototype SHOs present that day. One was driven from Dearborn by a Ford employee, and the other was brought by 5-6 C&D staffers along with a Hyundai Genesis logistics car that was also their long-term test car at the time. The only discernible difference between them was that the C&D press car was equipped with the optional Track Package, while the Ford prototype demo car was not. I fully admit that this video is not professional quality- it was recorded with a handheld digital camera while I focused on the riding experience itself.

Here is the C&D article link. Check the picture gallery against the ones copied below... :omgsho:

It was also implied that a framed print of this image (the Ford employee was standing right next to me with a DSLR) would end up at Mr. Mulally's office in Dearborn. :)

The silver '05 Taurus SEL in those group pics is mine. I thought it was pretty cool that there was actually a "passing ;)" reference to it within the C&D article. :woo-hoo:
