Just tried this stuff today and it seems to work great, my mirrors and pillar trim looked like **** and I can get the stuff for 2 bucks I figured why not. Its hard to tell how good it works from the picture especially on the pillars, you can tell that it works but it looks way better in person. I'm not sure how long it lasts but I'm guessing the more you use it the more it gets absorbed and longer it lasts.

I sanded and repainted my mirrors, and all the black on the pillars and window trim was sanded smooth and redone with black vinyl. Blacked out the chrome too for the 1994-95 look.

Same way as the rest - I measured twice and cut once, vinyl tape like is used for pinstriping (the really thick GT style stripes). The work was tucking it into every crack and trimming it perfectly, then peeling off the protective covering that comes on it. I've still got my sketches around for the templates I could scan and post.

I use the 'mag wheel polish' on the mirrors, it takes off the top layer of faded plastic and buffs out nice and shiny. Works well on yellow headlights too.

I use the back to black occasionally, but it does wear off quickly, and leaves streaks on the paint after you wash the car...as it slowly wears off.

Although it might not seem like it, the black chalky appearance mirrors are painted. I got passable results that look better than the pics here by using a rotary buffer and some compound and then waxing, but there were enough rock chips on them that I finally decided to repaint.

If you want to do a better job cleaning and buffing, the mirrors and the ring around them come off with three bolts after you get behind that corner of the door panel. After washing with soap and cleaning as well as you can with 99% alcohol or sem-solv/PPG acrili-clean, you can buff on the car as best you can (be careful not to burn through the sharp edges of the ring around the glass), or take them off and buff with the mirror bolted to a jig of some sorts (or get a victi...friend to hold them.)

I use that back to black on the rubber seals, but those mirrors will polish up like black paint if you buff them out. Hunter showed me that little trick. :) I was ready to paint mine when I got my car, and he said, "oh yea watch this.." and in a few seconds with the wheel they looked 10 years newer. :)


I like how that paint looks on the white car there tho. :)
