Should be NYAS :)

So the embargo is lifted and we can talk about the new mods for the 2013 MY.

I was called to bring some SHO enthusiasts for the NYAS for 4/20 for a special release for a new SHO.. Yesterday they brought it out for the public.. Ford listened to the Ford owners.. They hit almost every area that we asked them to address.

There are no specifics at this point just what they brought for us.

Brakes - Upgraded Larger calipers, Master cylinder and booster.

Wheels- A nice Spider Web wheel with SHO logo (appear to be much lighter) and have the SHO logo embossed in the wheel.

Body:
New front facia with chin spoiler
New upper and lower Grilles
New Blacked out headlight with "TAURUS" in them
New Side vent badges that Say "SHO"
New Rear Facia with the "bumps" removed with body color chin spoiler added.
New Rear spoiler
Painted mirror caps (all SHO will be painted black)
Deleted rear SHO logo on rear door
Deleted ECO BOOST badge on trunk
New color Red as shown (Ruby Red)
New Longer driving lights and light buckets (not fogs)

Interior:
New full leather seats with SHO embossed on the seat
New Dash cluster
New climate control unit
New window, door lock and mirror switches.
New Paddle shifters
New all black interior (all black from A to D pilla)
New Shifter handle
New wind deflector while the roof is open

Engine/Driveline:
No change

Suspension:
No visible change as of yesterday, but was told it was all new! Springs struts and all points are change to make it handle better. The car viewed yesterday was lower by about 1.5 inches and looked very nice. IMO much better than the too low HR springs.

All in All and great car and am still impressed that Ford hit every area that people have voiced their opinions about. Im going to review the modifications later tonight after I get back from the shop. There are some things that they hit out of the ballpark! and there are somethings that IMO could be done a bit differently, buy this one will be a hit and I can already see things that I will be swapping over to the 10-11-12 models.

I will be doing my review on my face book page (Northeast SHO) first then I will be moving it over here. If your not a FB friend yet sign up today!

Well crap. I don't know if I can wait another year for a new car and this list of goodies looks to be worth waiting for. Pretty much 2011 SHO for 2012?

yes they hit this one right on! everything that was changed pops right out at you, and there is now no wondering if thats a limited or a sho. and i will agree with kirk there are a few minor thing that IMO should have been done a little bit different. all an all this new sho is a major step up in the right direction. now all we gotta do is get them to up the ponies a bit

Thank you Kirk on behalf of the entire SHO Community for your involvement not only in the past (for most of which I admittedly wasn't around for) but also on behalf of all of the current and yet to be, future SHO owner's.

It's exciting to be a part of such a great community, with very knowledgeable people such as yourself, that are able to help coordinate the input and comments from individual owners and simlutaneously span the gap with FMC Executive's to produce an ever evolving, improved final product.

Thank you :thankyou:

I believe I speak for all of us, old and new alike, that we look forward to your updates, and seeing how you apply your modding talents to all the Gen4's alike..... 2010 to 2013 and beyond.

I just came across this commentary, by Greg Migliore, for Autoweek. It references the same context discussed here. It's good to see that the general enthusiast community recognize the voice our SHO family presents. :salute:

If you look at the new "small" Land Rover/ Range Rover, (believe it's called EVOQUE...) you will see where the design of the new SHO wheels originated... or perhaps vice-versa....

I wonder if it's molded to the carpet or a 2nd piece? It looks like it would fit nicely on my Gen 1. :salute:

Its molded into the carpet DJ, not a separate piece. Mine is actually covered up by my WeatherTech floor mats now so its hidden. Its just a black raised piece of plastic if you guys are wondering. Its not a metal or aluminum piece like the gas/brake pedals.
I know I never use it in the SHO due to the way you have to postition your feet for it to actually work. My 7 others SHOs and my Lightning have (and had) the ability to accomdate your foot on the dead pedal and not feel any awkwardness in your leg, shin or foot. I think its the way the floor pan is layed out. IMO, it's not anatomically correct for some people.

I'm thinking that is a raised area of the floorpan, like it's there to make room for some kind of component underneath it. They just put a rubber pad on it because some people would use it to put their foot there.
