so apparently if you lose one of these bolts for the lower engine cover for oil changes etc.

expect to pay over $200 because ford lists it as only included with the cover shield deflector

I don't know how mine fell out, I only noticed this 2 weeks a go when I changed over to summer wheels

bolt is 5mm x 40mm

right now i'm using a bodyclip from my old RX-8 to hold it up since all the other clips at one ford dealership didn't fit , and the part is not in stock anywhere

The underbody shield on my Flex is part# 10494. There is no specific part for the studs,
which are called: Underbody shield retainer(s) - (part of 10494A) (4 required)

Info from 2010 Flex Workshop Manual - p. 502-00-4.

The SHO uses the same identical parts to my knowledge.

I just ordered 2011 headrests from Torrie. He can get you anything Ford related.

We had an MKT at our dealership with that piece missing, I didn't see a listing for it separately. I sent a message to Ford catalogue assistance, and they told me that it was only serviced with the previously mentioned 10494 cover. Luckily for the customer we were able to do it under warranty.

cheers

So now Ford is using quarter-turn fasteners, eh? They should've just gone whole-hog and gone to DZUS fasteners. You should be able to find a 1 5/8" long quarter-turn fastener on the internet somewhere. Look in industrial-supply catalogs like Grainger, etc.

$200 for a new cover just because you need a clip? Ludicrous.
For me that would be a cold day in **** my man. --- and I suspect for anyone else here too.

If nothing comes up from your leeds, one should be able to come up with something to get the job done, at least until the parts supply catches up with demand and someone has actually thought of having spares.:rolleyes:

What Mike says makes sense too, at least take it off for service.
If one goes for an oilchange or whatever, It may just come back with a clip or 2 missing for whatever reason.:)

..........and no, not meant to dis the honest peeps out there just as a 'caveat emptor'. :)

Thanks for letting us know UD.

Sometimes NAPA has all sort of fasteners. They've surprised me a couple of times and had clips and fasteners that I couldn't find elsewhere. Good luck.
