and i'm stuck driving a Focus. Do you know what it's like going from a Stage 3 Tuned, Air Raid intake installed 425+HP SHO to a FOCUS :fit:

I'd been putting it off, the inside door handle in the back broke awhile back. It would still open the door but the spring that makes is pop back came undone. Not a big deal so I let it slide. Then the other day the stud that holds the wing on the trunk snapped and part of the wing started to come up, at that point it definitely had to go to the shop.

They said it would be a one day repair (I knew that was a joke) until they got it and took it apart to realize the stud broke off in the wing, so they had to special order a new one, and of course the new door handle didn't show up either. I'm hoping to get it back tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath, I'm thinking sometime next week. I just hope they aren't out "test" driving it, shoulda detuned it before I dropped it off.

An interesting point. In order to have it fixed under warranty they actually had to take pictures of it and send them to Ford for approval before starting the repairs. I guess the cosmetic stuff goes thru more scrutiny?

Which means more time for me to.... ummm... Focus....

I must have missed it. I thought I had the line on days out of service. 67 days, what happened?
How many days were you out of service for? And what was the issue?

Actually if you count the first 2 times, its over 80.

Went in the shop for a week at the start of October, then 2 weeks at the last week of October/First week of November, then again November 16th until today (buyback).

Wow,That is a downer to get a Focus, but at least they gave you something. Some places give you nada for the repair time.

Your reuniting with the SHO will be that much sweater....hope you get her back soon.

Sorry to hear your car is in the shop! Hope you get your beloved SHO back soon!

Not that I would ever do it or recommend it, but we have a customer that comes in and every time he has a rental car, he rigs up a nitrous kit and beats the life out of the car.

The last car he had was a 2010 V6 Malibu and he was spraying 150. He had a video racing a 2003 Cobra from a roll and hanging with it.

BAHAHAHA.

I worked for a rental car company about 10 years ago at a Cadillac dealer. Part of the perk as the manager is that you got a car to drive home.

I had a duffel bag N2O setup that was almost self contained. Cig lighter plug and a spare intake tube from the Parts department. Go out on Friday night and make a few passes at the track.

Heres a pic of the rental car shootout at the TBSS meet in 2007...

if you think customers are ******* rentals, you should see how employees treat em...i used to work at Hertz, and some of those cars have more airtime than a military plane...

Next time have the manager sign a statement showing the 'in' mileage. The work your vehicle need does NOT require a test drive. Tell him you do NOT want your car driven other than around the lot. I worked at a dealer and any high performance vehicle tended to go on more test drives compared to the basic vehicles.....

This, I worked for two rental companies years ago......

Absolutely! When I was a Used Vehicle Manager years ago, the nice performance trade-ins would get "extra" appraisal time from me and the other Managers :angelnot:
