Went out to the track tonight with some co-workers, decided to run the SHO and see about where I was at with the car so far.

Car is full weight+junkntrunk , 4psi stock motor , cheapass street tires at reg pressure. I shifted it pretty easy and was shifting early only taking it out to around 6300-6500rpm . I am still learning how to launch this thing with the power and ****** tires so was only getting 2.3-2.4 60ft times. Pretty sure there is alot more in it with some sticky tires and a good launch, high 13's on <5 psi would be cool .

The left lane is a modded 1gen dsm that was like WTF ?! when I passed him in 2nd gear ha

4 psi untuned with the octane adj pulled , 91 octane . Yes stock fuel system right now, working on getting the rest of my fuel system parts right now.

What are 102-103 trap speeds realistically good for if I can get the launch down ?

a 2.4 second 60' is abysmal, even for a bone stock SHO. Get some good tires on it and you'll see much better times. I expect, at most, a 2.0 second 60' time with good tires and a good launch on 5 psi. Lookin' good otherwise!

I dont think I saw anything lower then 2.0.
2.5 is more average joe in a DD.

for most of sho owners , their sho is their DD and a track sho is pretty rare since its not a 1/4 car. So launching like a mustang is not likely , plus with our flimsy axles/tranny , you dont wanna launch it too hard.

You might wanna ask SHONUT , he might point you out on EXACTLY where your time should be.

Also, that was with drag radials and a gen3 subframe. 2.0 60ft what size is that turbo?

Same as yours I think or pretty close , 60 AR 63 trim . How much boost where you running on those runs ?

Also, What size are your tires and how aggressive are you launching ? I'm going to mount 2 DR on a spare set of slicers for the track.
I'm jealous of your 60's :salute:

wow, changed my platnium ngk's out for copper autolites 1 range colder and put on new OEM wires . Cleaned up a small miss I had at idle and the power comes on much stronger in all gears. More noticable torque steer in 2nd now. My "newer" old wires/plugs must of been worse then I thought.

Going to try and find a set of sticky tires before next saturday and hit the track again looking for 13's .

Yea I had the coppers sitting in the garage waiting for a decent set of new wires to put on at the same time .

With that trap speed I think you should be able to hit 13's as is (or maybe with some sticky tires). If you drop your 60' by a couple tenths you should be there.

Yea I know my 60's need work :( . I know I will hit 13's next week with just the tune up I did and lower tire pressure to maybe 20-25 psi . I also found out I was dragging the Sho with half coolant in it and cooking at 250 deg ( the gauge had been acting up ) . I had maybe 100lbs in the trunk as well , overall I'm pretty happy and impressed with how much power the car is making with my low dollar build and still running 5 psi . stay tuned for another 13 sec SHO next weekend :)

Lowering your Tire pressure on street tires is not going to help you. Run them between 30-35 PSI. :)

Great video, especially when Josh is jumping up and down at the end. Nothing like accomplishing goals!
