Chrome vs Nickel Silver - Opinions Please

OK.....Some of you saw this post on my TPMS thread, but I put chrome wheels on my SHO and after installing them, almost preferred the factory Silver Nickel finish. So....I thought I'd post up comparison pics and get your opinions....

Glad to see people taking risks and trying out new styles and finishes, but for me, I prefer the Silver Nickel. I'm also not a huge chrome fan in general. The chrome seems to cause more shadows and dark reflections, which hide features of the wheel I think.

One thing that might be fun to play with, now that they are already chrome is paint White platinum in between the spokes and leave the faces chrome, like an F-150 Limited:

I like the non-chrome better. Easier to maintain too.

The silver nickel looks good, I'm happy with them but... put it this way, if you had your choice at the time of purchase to get either silver nickel or chrome for the same price, what you you choose?
My choice would be chrome.

Maintenance is the same on this particular version. It's a Vapor Deposition Chrome with a powder clearcoat......just like a painted wheel.

So that is 3-0 in favor of I wasted my money.....I'm feeling great now....at least I still have the original wheels.....

I like the CHROME slightly better.....

Reason being, it seems to accent and play off the chrome in the side vents (by the front quarters) and it helps tie in the chrome exhaust tips.

Kind of ties it all in and keeps the eye flowing from front, to lower part of the car and travelling to the rear.

I myself own the nickel luster finish wheels. Although I like the design of the wheels itself, I still find myself desiring to do something different with them.

I like that pic of the F150 w/ the alternating white/chrome...... looks sharp as **** IMO.

I suspect you could find someone willing to purchase those chrome wheels from you. I think they'd look good on a black car, I've always liked the looks of chrome wheels with black.

Now that is PRECISELY why I bought a chrome set!!!! I was just hoping for more satisfaction!

I don't think you wasted your money. At first when I read the thread I thought yeah.. Cause most of us are eliminating chrome. How old are you? And what is your opinion on them? I'm the kinda person who loves a white car and the way with the chrome is still very classy. If you got chrome aftermarket wheels.. We would have to talk but the stock rims chrome are a thumbs up! Not saying the stock is ugly but chrome slightly better... I like what you did keep it up I like the enthusiasm.

Doing a few more double takes.. Chrome all the way on this car. Another way I like a white car is with no chrome/metal showing at all. But This looks reeeallly good and classy like this not ghetto at all goodjob being different

You need to tint your windows. This is 35%, very light.
