I dont understand peoples fascination with PD blowers. I have driven lightning's and gtp's so i know how it feels but why all the hassle just for that? I mean, a properly sized turbo would do the job very well.

Its because it's cheap speed if you do the work yourself. Granted these blowers really just aren't suited well for the SHO motors sadly. But it's better than nothing and the blowers are cheap.

i bought my turbo for 360

searching craigslist until you find what you need helps tremendously. You can run the stock fuel system on 5psi. A lincoln maf from the jy is only 30 bucks. If you use a holset or something similar you dont have to buy a wastegate. You can use an ebay knockoff Bov for 40 bucks. I have been running my knockoff for about 6 months now and i have no issues with it. Theres a way to get around spending a shitload of money on things.

save for a piping kit intercooler flanges and oil lines, thats your whole kit. I have about 1600 in my turbo system.

Totally agree with Drew. He found some sweet deals and that made the process quicker because when you find a deal on one thing you open up more money for something else...hence the more deals you find faster the boost comes.

Just be patient, so Ive learned. The deals are out there.

When someone, anyone, makes more TQ with a PD blower, any PD blower, than I make with my turbo, let me know.

It won't be with any low end Eaton. Now a large whipple, I'll be eager to see that Preludes torque numbers, because I would put my money there.

You bought your turbo for $360 then had to buy a ton of other things, $1600 is a lot of money, I have owned 4 SHO's and only 1 of them have I paid more than $1600 for. With an Eaton there wouldn't be exhaust work, or other parts. But fabbing a bracket will be required, in the end it will be cheaper, but you will need to have the ability to do this stuff yourself.

Are we talking strictly SHOs on this bet?? :naughty:

Lol, but I know what you mean. a guy with a Bonneville over on a Grand Prix forum just put down 310hp and 411 tq (thats insane) with his Gen 3 M90, Gen 5 would probably put out even more torque and 20 - 30 more hp with his setup.

they might have you beat on the low end torque...

No doubt, but using that argument is like telling someone that your model airplane makes more HP than their Viper.....at 20000rpm.

Haha, obviously! I certainly am not going to challenge an engine with twice my displacement, not for TQ!! What does the L make?

I don't think it's a bet but more of an "anything you can do I can do better" kind of thing. So think of it as more of a ******* match/dick measuring competition than a bet.

If that is how you took it, oh well. But it was more of a simple stated fact. Until someone has an actual running PD SHO with more TQ, it is all just talk and conjecture. No doubt it can be done, but until it is, it's just talk.

Yes, that would be a TQ monster, I certainly hope it gets completed.

What a debate I seem to have started. I realized something when I re-read this thread. If as offroad Sho stated the 3.2 (which is the block that will get a blower) use 97.5 CI of air per crank rotation and the M90 produces 90 CI per rotation, but is spun at 2xCrank speed then won't that mean that the SC is producing 180CI per cranksahft revolution? Even with real world effecincy loss won't there still be enough air flow for this blower to work?

Yes the M90 will work. Its been done and proven. The blower will be choking the engine but still make nice power. IIRC there a sable wagon that was SHO powered with an m90 dynoing over to 350whp. I can bet that be fun as **** being the Tq curve is flat as ****. An m90 would be perfect for a street SHO and just wanting more power, cause that extra power will be in the best place.

Um not really. Its the same thing, to a tee almost, when mounting an m90 to a SHO. No W/G or BOV. U still need fuel upgrades, tuning, pipes, couplers, ect. With an eaton on a SHO, yes there would be exhaust work, try a custom front header and routing it back to the exhuast. Unless u go w/ the hole in the hood method :)

Which should be done on the RWD SHO cough cough. It would look SO right, even more right than being N-S:dribble:

and WTF does buying 3 SHO's for less than 1600 have to do with anything;) and its not even alot of money....

Popping out the hood of an Opel

Don't thread cap because your upset that me saying your $1600 is expensive when most SHO's are cheaper than that cost. This guys actually trying to get this done and he's looking for info, not peoples opinions on what else works, what they think is cheaper, or posting completely off topic because they are upset.

it's alright to let people know that there are other, cheaper ways to do things as long as it isn't something made by SHO Source...
