Currently it has Intrax springs with a coil cut off the front springs. For some reason this car sits higher in the rear than these same springs did on my old 95. That might have something to do with not having a problem.

Here's the flip side.
I run 245/40/18 which has pretty much an identical circumference as Kelvin's 245/45/17. My set of wheels is 18X8 with 38mm offset and the driver side rear rubbed horribly over bumps.
It's a tossup with these cars.

225 is perfect on an 8" rim. 235 is close enough. Anything bigger loses performance.
Depending on where you are at in NC, summer tires work 95% of the time. If you are in the mountains, get summer & winter tires. All-season tires are "no season" tires. They ALL suck for performance, if you are into serious handling. Plus summer tires are better in the wet.
Sorry, you already bought tires, but being the curmedgeon is my job!!
