I just picked up a set of 17x8 wheels and I am trying to figure out a good size tire to get. I have a 95 Gen 2 ATX lowered a little with eibachs. I am not concerned with brands just the best size for my car with the 17x8 wheels.

2354517 and roll the quarters.
They will rub no matter what tire you run. It will rub when going over bumps and heavy acceleration.
my brother has 17x8's with 235/45/17 with no rubbing at all and no rolling! they look great! jmp you can pm him.... his name is stangeater.....later
I've had two different sets of 17x8s with two different brands of 245/45/17s on my lowered 93. No rubbing, cutting, or rolling. Both sets of wheels are offset 38mm.
Here's the flip side.
I run 245/40/18 which has pretty much an identical circumference as Kelvin's 245/45/17. My set of wheels is 18X8 with 38mm offset and the driver side rear rubbed horribly over bumps.
I have 11.6 rotors in the back so maybe that pushes the wheels out a bit, but I doubt it made much of a difference since I'm really close to the strut too.
It's a tossup with these cars.

11.6" rear rotors here, too.![]()

I'm running 245/45/17s Falken FK452s on TD 1.2s with a 38mm offset. Only a slight rub when going over bumps, but nothing when in hard corners, or accelleration.
