I just picked up a set of 17x8 wheels and I am trying to figure out a good size tire to get. I have a 95 Gen 2 ATX lowered a little with eibachs. I am not concerned with brands just the best size for my car with the 17x8 wheels.

235/45/17 is fine, it's the 8" wheels that pushes things out a bit.

Put them on the car and go for a quick drive over some railway tracks, if you don't notice any rubbing then you'll be fine.

Co-Signed! I absolutely love my 17x8's with 235-45-17's! The car looks, and feels very stout. I've never had a problem with rubbing, and my car is lowered also. I sell windows for a living, and carry 200lbs of stuff in my trunk, and have NEVER had a rubbing issue. they are however only about a half inch from the strut, but not even close to the fenders. I guess if they had a crazy off set you may have a problem, but otherwise I wouldn't think so. Good luck.:sun:

I've had two different sets of 17x8s with two different brands of 245/45/17s on my lowered 93. No rubbing, cutting, or rolling. Both sets of wheels are offset 38mm.

Here's the flip side. ;)

I run 245/40/18 which has pretty much an identical circumference as Kelvin's 245/45/17. My set of wheels is 18X8 with 38mm offset and the driver side rear rubbed horribly over bumps.

I have 11.6 rotors in the back so maybe that pushes the wheels out a bit, but I doubt it made much of a difference since I'm really close to the strut too.

It's a tossup with these cars.

I have 18x8.5's with custom offset and spacers. Maybe 3mm of space between tire and strut. But I had to clearance the fenders, mainly because it is a GEN I. As for tires, michelin pilots, 235/40. They are so nice.

11.6" rear rotors here, too.

I appreciate everyones input and I am going to try the 235 45 17. I also have the 11.6 brakes in the rear but I don't think I will see any rubbing. Right now the car has 245 40 18 and never once have I heard it rub.

I'm running 245/45/17s Falken FK452s on TD 1.2s with a 38mm offset. Only a slight rub when going over bumps, but nothing when in hard corners, or accelleration.

I know this a stupid question but what about 245/40/17. I can get a good deal on them but I don't want a serious rubbing.

What was your 93 lowered with. I can get a set of 245/45/17 that only have a few thousand miles on them for decent money. My SHO is lowered with Eibachs.
