So I when I changed the exhaust on the SHO I noticed that as the AC cycles, the Torque converter will unlock and then re-lock moments later.
Anyone??

I think it's done to minimize the "felt" impact of the driveline shock caused by adding a load suddenly. When the clutch on the AC clamps down, it causes the engine to lose power momentarily, and if the TC is locked you will feel that. So basically it's a comfort measure.
That sounds like it was a band-aid fix for a poorly designed compressor.
Which is worse to feel, a slight loss or "pull" in power from the motor, or a **** of an unlocking tc? Someone at Ford gave a 5 year old a laptop and said program a ECU for a GenIII please...
in 94 and 95 when they were designing the SHO ECU I am not sure if there were too many 5 year old lap tops around. just something to think about.
