My back brakes have been getting super hot and smell burnt, I changed the rotor, pads, and caliper before, but they are still sticking! I had to put new pads on and when I did, I removed the E-Brake and greased the caliper pins with the brake grease. After I re-installed the caliper, I moved it back and forth and it glides nice and smooth. So why do they smell burnt, AGAIN???

Question, the caliper piston didn't compress easy, its that crappy style that has to twist and compress. Could that be an issue.

That, or your rear lines are probably collapsed.

I'd replace the rear lines too, if it were me.

If you want to be sure, you can simply cut the metal bracket away from the rubber line...very carefully with a cutoff wheel. If you cut into the rubber line, yer hosed. Pun intended.

Can you easily bleed the affected brake? That will tell you if the hose is collapsed or not.

Yes and no, Jon. The hose will bleed ok, but will not let the fluid return to the master cylinder. My best diagnosis would be a bad brake hose. Replace them both, and it'll be fine.

The few times I've encountered the swollen brake hose issue, the bleeding was affected too, but I have heard that it can act like a check valve.

I'll defer to your experience.

.......not sure if anyone's mentioned it , but replace both rear rubber brake lines. Should only cost you about 30 bucks or so, and I can almost guaranty that is your problem. I've had to replace the rear rubber lines on the 3 sho's I've owned.
