A friend of mine in town has had his SHO since December and is getting great gas mileage, mostly in town driving he is averaging about 20mpg. He has a very heavy foot too, pretty impressive. I did not order my SHO because of the MPG it gets but it will be a welcome improvement over my 08 Pontiac G8 GT that is getting 13mpg in town and 22mpg on the highway! Looks like the direct injected/turbo motor is a great performer plus it does not gulp the gas.......

13 MPG from a G8 Gt? That sounds way too low.

I only live 2 miles from work, with a max speed of about 45. I have to admit when the light turns I like to hear the motor run! My sister has a G8 V-6 model and she gets about 17mpg, but she drives like our mother......lol

My around town MPG stays around 20MPG. Mixed hwy and city around 22 MPG. We have yet to run a tank on hwy only but the car returns 26 mpg when I reset the meter on the hwy.

So much for ECO, WTF does that even mean anyway?

'89 gets 30 mpg at 80mph on the highway all day long, thought newer was supposed to be better.

Add 1,000 #s, 145 more HP, a buttload more torque, 1.5 -2.0 seconds better in the quarter, and AWD so it can actually be useful in bad weather.

A LOT f-in better!!

FWIW, after driving other cars like my mid-13-second LGT, my two stock '89 SHOs really feel slow. because they are. Even after buying the new '89, it didn't have much (if any) over my previous '86 Z28 TPI auto.

SHOs had/have great driving dynamics, but quick/fast, in today's world ain't there. Mommobiles turn mid 14s nowadays.

My almost city-only SHO has average 15-17mpg.

I've gotten 21 on the few highway trips I've done.

The current tune im running now, gets about 15 around the city, and on my last 100 mile road trip I was averageing 27.9mpg

IN 08 my 91 git 30mpg going out to Seattle, before this years convention Ill have a tune for ECOSHO that matches that.

The 2010 gets around 15 city. Lots of short runs and stop and start... it's only 4 miles to work. It got 24 on a long road trip from Wisconsin to Colorado and back in March. It has the performance pack.

The old '92 used to get 28-29 on the road from Wisconsin to Colorado.

AMEN!!

I don't drive my SHO to race and brag about it's performance. It's a neat car and rare as ****. Love the motor, but my little Neon SRT4 would destroy it with a quickness AND get 30mpg too!

As for the new mom-mobiles, you're right.

A new Toyota RAV4 V6 runs 14.8@100mph!!

Over the winter, I'm getting 15-17, but it's mostly been under 3 mile trips and letting it warm up 5 minutes. We'll see how it is now that's it warmer out. On a strictly thruway trip, I suspect that I will see 30+. That's with the cruise set at 70.

It would probably help to also know if the cars have the performance package or not just for comparison. I know one or two people have mentioned it.
