well i think i found a great deal on a fidanza flywheel and exedy clutch but the only problem is it says the clutch is o.e...... i like double clutchin and slamming gears and i wouldn't want to mess up a new clutch. has anybody had exsperience with the exedy clutch and how does it compare to the southbend stage 2? suggestions and thoughts appreciated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXED...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4832bd99a6

I have the Southbend Stage II clutch ( cryo treated) with a SHOsource steel billet flywheel and SHOnut TOB and I personally love it. I think this might be a bit much for a stock SHO but if you have a bunch of bolt-ons and occasionally spray then it will be a good choice. Not really cheap but you get what you pay for and it is very streetable. I went through a CM1 kit, which is comparable to the Exedy kit, in about 8 months and wasn't a huge fan of the fidanza. But yeah like he said save up some cash and do it right the first time.

That is nothing more then an Stock clutch and can be okay but having upgraded straps is really good to have. One of the common points of failure.

Also Fidanzas have an issues with dowel pins and even flatness.

Not that ive tried the SB but I really like my CM1 , stock organic disc with reinforced PP.

Mine is mated with a fidanza too. I really like it so far.

Flywheels are not power adders. They are like a UDP in the sense that they free up power. In the case of the SHo it is only 3-5hp at best. This is also within dyno accuracy.

The aluminum will allow you to rev really fast. It can casue a slightly rough idle, more so with cams. You will basically have to learn to shift again. It is not good if you plan on boost.

The 17lb is a good compromise though.

It is a matter of what you plan to do, and how you will be driving.

hey..it's your car/trans/money/labor. track toys still need to be taken care of, and keep in mind that wheelspin in any gear is not condusive to forward acceleration...
