Well guys the wife had decided she wanted a 4x4 so I picked up a 1998 Grand Cherokee with a 5.2L in it. Damn nice and alot more powerful than I thought it would be.

I began contemplating stripping her SHO and making a road course car out of it now that we are finally getting some tracks back in Colorado. That ended with the purchase of a midget chassis that I am converting into a 1000cc Mini-Sprint and I will be running the circle track series for a while.

So that leaves the SHO sitting outside by her lonesome in the cold. Well I hate to own vehicles that I have no intention of having fun with. That puts her up for sale.

If anyone wants or needs any specific pictures or descriptions by all means call me 719.287.4277, email me kenkouba @ hotmail.com, or PM me.

Description:
1989 FORD Taurus SHO
133,951 miles (original as far as I know...matched with CarFax when I purchased it).
White with Grey interior (seats in poor condition, but rest of interior is MINT). !!ZERO RUST!!
Slicer wheels in perfect condition except the right front (seen in pictures).
Tires are GoodYear Assurance with at least 60% if not better.

Exterior:
Paint is still very shiney with a scuff on the left rear and some blems on the front bumper cover. Colorado is famous for hail damaged vehicles...well this has NO hail damage. The nice part about Colorado is the lack of salt out here and extremely dry climate. The car has absolutely no rust in it. All sills, door jams, undercarriage, trim recesses, etc is rust free. If there is any specific places known for rust that might be hidden let me know and I will take pictures of it.

Interior:
Other than the seats...the interior is nearly mint. The headliner is in great shape other than two small holes just above the drivers head in the center. Looks like a previous owner had something mounted there? It is still adhering perfectly everywhere else. Door panels and kick panels are perfect. Premium Sound Speakers work GREAT with the aftermarket stereo. Loud and clear. Dash and center console are perfect and blemish free. Drivers power seat works great.

Drivetrain:
Motor runs flawlessly. Does not burn an ounce of oil or coolant. Very strong. Not a single sound out of the valvetrain or bottom end. The transmission shifts as smooth as butter. The clutch is very strong and grabs at about mid stroke of the pedal everytime. I purchased and installed an X2J PCM. The air filter is a K&N drop in filter. When I bought the car the previous owner told me the timing belt and water pump were done at 115,*** miles. I pulled the upper cam gear cover and I could easily still see ink on the timing belt.

What she needs:
Windshield. I was going to do this in the Spring.
Brake Rotors. When they are used frequently they begin to pulse.
Maybe shocks in the next 8-10,000 miles. I like a firm ride and these are more of a factory feel, but not bouncy or blown by any means.

When I took pictures of the car I only ran it through a quick carwash. With a proper detail there is no dirt in the wheel wells or trim areas.

I am looking to get $2500 for the car, but as I said she is just sitting now and I am open to offers.

Pictures....

Thank you for getting this up Tom!

She is a very clean and straight car. The seats are the only ***** and I tried to find some replacements for her. Either they would cost me an arm and leg with shipping, or what was near my area was not "perfect" and I did not want to spend money unless they were perfect. That is when the thought of stripping her down and road racing it came to mind.

I am thinking about putting it on Ebay as well. We will see.

Good luck with the sale, a nice clean rust free Gen 1, should be a good sale. I wouldn't mind owning that one, bank account says, "NO!". To bring that car to the rust belt, not the best idea.

Nice SHO! :thumb:

I could be mistaken but didnt' 89's come with the basket weves? If so, do you still have them?? E-mail me direct [email protected]

Email sent, but to let others know...yes the '89 had different style wheels. No I do not have them. I did not find any in mint condition, plus I got the slicers for a very good price. I was going to powder coat these white...but again never got to it.

Best,
-Kenny

Wife

**** with the wife, make her ride a bus, keep the SHO.

A japan survey was done and it was asked if you where in a canoe w/ your wife and mother and the canoe tipped over and neither could swim and you could only rescue (1) which would it be? The overall response in japan was my mother and when asked why most responded, "I can get another wife!"

I ask you, "can you get another SHO?"
