I wouldn't judge you. U have your opinion, and I agree with you on that.
Just recently I came up to a point where almost everywhere in my reasearches on making SHO fast as **** and a daily driver car, it cannot be done even if you don't think about $$$. Bought another SHO with a lot of work done and pretty fast and ready for more mods, but simple thing: clutch disk spring popped out. If i go with springless clutch, then i would have problem parking. In other words there are things to give up in order to achieve other goals.

so what exactly is teh difference in HP between a JDM h22 and a US h22 that your engine swap needed supporting mods?

do they make 11ty billion more hp or something ?

One thing I don't understand is that why would they forge a lot of engine internals except for pistons? Did they plan for kaboom?

Efforts to keep the engine together at high RPM. Gotta admit, they did a damn fine job!

BTW, the SHO engine is safely capable of way more than 7k rpm. It's the accessories that hold it back. Most people that put on UDP's change the rev limiter to 8k without an issue.

I can remember hearing a story about being able to safely rev to 11k, not sure if there's any truth to that though.

I know all that about revving it high, i recal somebody was selling engine like that that could rev 11000rpm, but if you wanted to boost it, then you could blow a piston if you do too much. Oh and by the way, i don't understand what exactly would i get from being able to rev it past 7400rpm?

I wouldn't recommend running it past 8k without addressing oiling within the block. My 3L made power past 8k.

I have backed my limiter down to 7,300 RPM. Power is easy to extract out of these motors. For reference, my Vortech SHO made:

381whp @ 8k RPM (stock 3L shortblock)
438whp @ 7k RPM (forged 3.2L)

I could have easily hit 460whp at 8k RPM on the new motor.

I have UDP on my car and it is 3.2 and bunch of other mods, but first time i heard anout UDPs was to put down more power, not to be able to rev higher.
But that Vortech SHo, how much psi is it blowing? I mean, it there is too much and engine is stock you can mess your engine up, right?

I bet you don't even register more power on a dyno from the pullies.

A healthy stock engine can take 10 PSI without issues if done correctly.

UDPs do both. They spin the accessories slower so that they can survive when the engine is spinning 7200+ RPM. They also weigh less. That allows the engine to put more power to the ground.
