anybody have a how to wire open secondaries...i'm throwing a code p1518 help please

like the title says....
i know where the control box is.., but i'm not sure how you guys wire them open after i disconnect the box??..any help or pics would be great...thanks...

i'm hoping this is something that can be done quick....it's to damn cold right now...

Take off the Throttle Body and the 90 degree metal intake fitting as one piece at the surge tank rubber connector. Then you can get to the linkage. A couple of zip ties will hold them open.

i looked at it this morning and revved the car.....the linkage and motor are still working, wonder why it threw a cel....i cleared it again and manually opened and clsoed the butterflys fast....maybe it lossened something up, but it seems to be fine for the moment....

also when i read the codes, i also got a p1000 what is that?

P1000 is because you have cleared the codes and the car has not been driven enough to reset the drive cycle monitors.

The code you are getting is because the secondary plates are carboned up and not allowing the cable to be completely pulled in closing a small switch. It will break the cable or the gear inside the IRMC box sooner or later.

yeah, i understand that, i am going to open it up and clean it, but it operates really smoth now that i opened it and let it slam shut a few times.....
everything looked great from what i could see.....
it's just to damn cold now to be working without a garage :)

I did ball joints last weekend in an unheated garage. It wasn't a fun experience.

They're probably gummed up and will eventually fail if you don't clean it out.
