Finally found a gen3 SHO here in south florida for 1800. Runs great, shifts great, looks good. Look at the thread and pics on it here...
http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=106073

Only thing, owner did not know if cams were welded, so I'm going to take it apart soon to find out. If for some reason was never done, it made it to 130,000 miles, so cams should have been assembled correctly, but of course I know it will always still be a problem.

Does anyone know, or performs the cam welding here in Florida, closer to West Palm the better.

Ok, would you be able to make it down to west palm with the welder? If so, how much for the whole thing, I would have everything already apart down to the cams.

Its not for sure yet till i take it apart and see if it even needs it. I just keeping my options open in case. I am not going to play around with this, I don't want to blow a perfectly good running engine, lol.

Also, do you also weld the diff pins on gen1 manual tranny? Don't want a repeat of that again.

Well, took the front valve cover off. Not Welded. Damn!! So its a for sure that I got to get them done. Is it possible I can dissassemble it down to the cams and remove the cams and take somewhere to get welded, or does it have to be in the car to weld?

Ok, after doing extensive, and I mean for hours, of researching, I can see taking the cams off engine is under hood is out of the question. So I'll either take it all apart and have someone come to my house to weld them (most likely), or put together and drive somewhere and get the job done (least likely). Any up for it?

If not, I'll probably have someone local that welds come to the house and do it, I'll of course take him on my computer and show him how the welds will be. I'm pretty desperate actually.

At this point I cannot come down there and weld it and make it worth my time. You'd have to bring it back up to Melbourne and if you want to do that I can give you a price on it unless you wanted to pay that for me to come down there, you know?

Its ok, I found someone in Palm Bay that does it. Anyone hear of LnCarlos. Looking at peoples testimonials, they swear by him, so I'll let him do it.

We do this as well... and if you are bringing your car up to this area, bring the diff and I can do it and or cam welds.

I don't have a diff yet, its still in the car driving. I'm going to take the next SHO trans I see in junkyard or wherever and take it from there. Then take it apart to the diff and I'll bring that up. Weld it, then I put back together and have a really good spare.

can you guys tear down a trans and weld the diff and put it all back togeather?

Yes but it would be cheaper for you to buy the DVD from Josh and pull the tranny apart yourself and bring me the diff. But if you didn't feel confident then we can do it.

Well, I can pull it apart, already have my old busted transmission disassembled on my workbench. Just may have a problem putting back together. But I can do it next time.

He welded my wife's '97 a few years ago with me watching the whole procedure, did a great job. I have not had any problems with the work he did. I'd use him again if I were in the area.

Yeah, got it done about 2-3 weeks ago. Real nice guy! Didn't get to see it though, just had time to drop it off for a week and go, then picked it up and left.
