I just registered, and got to thinking (rare, I know!), that a lot of the 2010 SHO owners may not know about this event.

Just wanting to make sure you all see the official posting about it, and registration info. It's always a great time, and an even greater bunch of people!

Hoping to see a lot of 2010 SHO's join us this year!

We'll miss ya. Post pics of the new bodywork when you can!

Maybe. The body shop got a "SHO hood" that's actually a regular taurus hood so it has the reverse power-bulge, but it looks so good with the paint that I didn't want to make a big deal out of it... and frankly, it was a miracle that GEICO authorized the repair at all so I figure the least I can do is just take it and shut up lol. My wife likes the look of it better, and to be honest the lines do match up pretty well to the grill.

So, if you promise not to make a big deal out of the fact that it's got a reverse power bulge, I'll put pics up lol.

Please do! I thought about putting a SLO hood on, and painting the middle satin black. I need to get my hood/roof/trunk resprayed, so I still may do it. It would be great to see what it looks like beforehand.

Ok, this is the best angle I could find of the pictures my mother in law took when the car was still at the shop. Since this picture, it's gotten new headlamp housings, clear corners, HID lights, and - oh yeah - there are no incandescent lights on the exterior of the car. Anywhere (except the license plate bulbs in the back [and the foglamps, of course], and that's gonna change soon [foglamps aren't going to]). We got Switchback bulbs from autolumination.com and they are THE SHIT. They are bright white when parking lamps are on, and switch to amber when turn signals are on. They flip back and forth. It is just the neatest thing. The fishtanks have LED bulbs in them, the cornering lamps and side turn signal are all LED... and the brake lights are LED too. it's pretty keen.

Anyway, without much further ado:

I like it! I've been looking for something different, and don't care much for cowl hoods on a four door sedan. This may very well be my answer!

The car looks great, glad they fixed it!

I still stand by my theory that mods need to be functional mechanical changes in order for them to count as mods. The strut tower braces? definitely mods. I still don't count 11.6" brakes as a mod cos the stock ones are dangerous... most all the changes on the car are cosmetic. And, if your gen 4 MTX is "stock", then this one sure as **** is too. FWIW, I would consider my wife's car "stock-ish". It's had some performance stuff done to it but not a whole lot. STBs and a TwEECer are about it.

But thanks for the compliment!

P.S. it's on its original transmission at 198,000 miles. That alone should qualify it as stock!

Your wife is right, it does look better. If I am not mistaken, the SHO hood is the one off a Sable (it is for sure on the first gen cars).
Did you keep the distinctive under-hood blanket with SHO written on it?
My car got a minor hit in the front as well, and I am sweating out the decision by the insurance company.
Sometimes I wish I was just driving a regular car. There are so many cheep, non-descript cars out there, but no, I have to have an odd-ball car that I actually care about! Every small accident is an agonizing experience.

I registered mine as modified, because it will have over 4 mods by the time Carlisle rolls around. Carlisle works way different than the convention judging, as far as classes. Putting myself in the modified class, up against cars like Sam's or the Black supercharged Gen 1 is definitely not going to make getting a trophy any easier, but honestly, we're being judged by the other groups that are there. I know when the bunch of us do our walk arounds and judge, we're a little more than half in the bag, and I don't pay attention to class at all. I see what I like, and that's it.

Hahaha, I didnt even place in the Modified Class at Carlisle. Everyone probably thought my car was a POS. What else would you call a gutted out old Taurus?
